i have used studio one artist 3 for quite some time now.

first with a studiolive ar16 that had some nice features, but also so limitations (number of aux sends), then i moved on to a studio one 16.0.2 which had some great extra features and controls, but i could not use the usb return as i did on the ar16, with its dedicated 17/18 usb returns.

using the 16.0.2 i could only route back audio to track 1/2, and (i can't remember exactly....) either itunes or the studio one recordings couldn't be played back at all ( i think it was the itunes audio.)

now i switched from the 16.0.2 tot a soundcraft signature 22 mtk (with its 24 usb return channels!) hoping things would be solved.

but now, i can only get audio like itunes, or other pc audio back on tracks 1 and 2 - and not on any of the other tracks, usb return switch has no effect.

also, the audio recorded within studio one artist 3 (recording seems to go fine) cannot be returned to any of the tracks, not even 1 & 2.

am i doing something wrong? or are these normal limitations? (i realise the studio one version is pretty old, but so is my mac + its operating system. and i'd rather not update since some of the other software running will become incompatible then.)

any help or suggestions is much appreciated.
