Hello,

Recently, I contacted NotePerformer support and asked if they had any plans to integrate with Notion.

I then presented Presonus with their response, which led to an exchange of facts about the technical difficulties preventing this integration.

Here are the main elements of that communication, which highlights some technical discrepancies:

NotePerformer:

"We would be interested in Notion integration and have previously approached Presonus about it. Admittedly, it's been many years since.

We are limited by certain aspects of Notion. They're not impossible to overcome, but would need an active update from Presonus. Most importantly, we need all 16 MIDI channels and automatically assign sounds with MIDI banks and programs from the choice of instrument, like a software General MIDI module but with a custom program listing.

Also, if I recall correctly, we couldn't configure Notion to NOT use the Notion reverb. I'm sure it's a fine reverb, but the NotePerformer onboard reverb is multi-channeled, carefully designed for our sounds, and not easily replaced.

It all boils down to making something user-friendly and consistent with other notation programs from the perspective of the outputted audio, and being able to use our existing UI."

Presonus:

"Unfortunately, as NotePerformer has a one-second delay it is incompatible with our real-time performance mode in Notion, so we never took it forward, but we will keep this under review since it’s a frequent request by our users."

NotePerformer:

"We support real-time recording in Sibelius and Dorico by the real-time note flag in the VST/VST3 specifications (to make MIDI-keyboard notes bypass latency processing), but few hosts implement it, and it may be tricky to add."

Please investigate this further so that Notion can be integrated with NotePerformer.

Thank you
