They are not trying to make it go away. They are just making sure biden doesn’t run again. He can’t be prosecuted for the crimes while president. They make a deal, no run, no prosecution. Done.

OTOH, they may charge him with a crime so they can charge Trump with the same. And that will still sweep biden aside. The D’s will say that biden under indictment is not eligible for the D nomination.
And the republicans can do the same thing. It just won’t work for the R party as it will destroy what’s left of it.

We’re beating a dead horse now. we’ll know soon enough if biden is stepping aside or if he announces he’s not running again.
