Both. The only reason Trump survived an assassination to date is because they are afraid of the aftermath. They now fear Trump even more, thus the recent assassination attempt. They failed because of the fear. Rather than having an actual government killer take the kill shot, which would have worked, they used a groomed 20 year old mentally ill incompetent. They did this to try and make it the “lone wolf” killing to keep their part hidden. They failed, and they failed because of fear. But it was damn close, costing the president a piece of his ear.

As far as B) goes, they can fear us but still mock us. They mock us because they can and that’s what narcissists do. Near half the citizens in this country are just too damn stupid to even know they are being mocked, and 50% of the other half just can’t believe their government could possibly be involved in the murder of the president.
