It was a bullet, saw the hole on a close-up shot. Wray could have easily found that image too, a round quarter-inch hole with raised edges. BTW, shrapnel would have caused at best a flesh wound, a bullet at 3000 fps could cause severe injury or kill, there’s a difference.
