Last year, Multnomah County announced that they would fund a new seven-person behavioral health gun violence response team. That team - which includes three mental health clinicians, a supervisor, and partnerships with community organizations who can provide mentorship - is now up and running. Yolanda Gonzalez oversees the division where this new team is based, and Karl Johnson works collaboratively with the counselors through his work as the Community Justice Manager for the County. Johnson and Gonzalez join us to talk about the county’s approach to gun violence.
