Authorities are working the scene of a major accident this (Monday) afternoon by Brenham Elementary School.

(courtesy Christina Mantey)The crash was reported just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 36 North and West Blue Bell Road.

According to Brenham Police Captain Lloyd Powell, a GMC Yukon ran into the back of an 18-wheeler.

The condition of the driver of the Yukon is not known at this time. No one else was inside the vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler was said to be okay.

Travelers are advised to be mindful of potential delays.
