The first of two coronation ceremonies in the 133rd Brenham Maifest is tonight (Friday).

Senior Maifest Queen and King, Lauren Ruth Hook
and Ashton Kiel Behrens, will reign over the court of
"Musical Memories" at Friday night's Senior
Coronation.The Senior Coronation, being held before the Junior Coronation this year, takes place at 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Park. Queen Lauren Ruth Hook and King Ashton Kiel Behrens will reign over the court of “Musical Memories.” After the ceremony, the Brown Sugar Band will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The Junior Coronation will follow tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:30 p.m. Queen Virginia Kate Priesmeyer and King Luke Robert Hyatt will reign over the court of “The Enchanted Tree House.”

Tomorrow’s festivities lead off with the parade through downtown Brenham at 10:30 a.m. KWHI will have a live broadcast of the parade starting at 10 a.m. and will livestream it on Facebook, sponsored by Mr. Gatti’s. The Maifestival grounds will open after the parade for dance performances, games and beer tasting.

Enchanted Tree House."The music lineup tomorrow has Das Ist Lustig from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Isaak Klaus and the Lederhosen Junkies from 4 to 7 p.m., and Brandon Rhyder from 10 to 11:30 p.m.

The Mighty Thomas Carnival opens at 5 p.m. today and 11 a.m. tomorrow.
