The Brenham Fire Department thanks the community for showing its support at the 57th Annual Fireman’s Fiesta.

(KTEX-106)While final totals are still being determined, Brenham Fire Department Volunteer Assistant Chief Stephen Draehn said this past weekend’s event had great turnout and called it a “solid, solid fundraiser.”

According to Draehn, Saturday’s pitch tournament had 34 teams signed up, while on Sunday, the department sold approximately 1,526 drive-thru and dine-in meal tickets and 613 books of drawing tickets. Preliminary figures show the auction raised around $42,000, and a poker chip drawing raised about $2,500.

Draehn said the department cannot express enough gratitude for all of the donations and support.

Among the contributors to the event was the Brenham H-E-B, who donated $5,000 towards the purchase of the meat served.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to fund the purchase of rescue tools and equipment for the department’s new ladder truck, which is expected to arrive in February 2027.
