I wasn’t with my Mom or my Dad when they passed into the next realm.
I say this as I feel that life comes to us in layers.
For how else might we arrive in a place Thick with Life and Thin on Time?
We are created to either grow up or the lights will dim; leaving us to question life and time.
Why does one die so young and others live through many seasons?
In our young hearts, we never thought about how long it might possibly last.
Then switch, we become obsessed with planning and arranging for our final farewell.
When should we begin to prepare for that?
Perhaps when the first gray hairs appear?
Or should we begin our plan of descent as soon as we arrive?
When you take a road trip, you plan it with a map; when I was born, why wasn’t I given that?
Life is meant to be a mystery.
The best lives are those that have shared face-to-face contact with an abundant number of children, teenagers, and best of all the people who have stacks of wisdom found deep within their eyes.
Perhaps by choice of solitude life is lived the best.
High on the sea in a boat so remote, or deep within the mountains as a quest.
All we can do is live by the guide of our beating heart.
Then one day time will come to switch, as if we were never apart.
If not for this belief, this hope; my heart would not be able to cope.
