If we could but see the pain and hurt that others carry around unbeknownst to us, would it change the way we look at our world? How many tears does it take for us to notice the heart’s cries of another?
When we see a brother or sister hurting; do we turn our eyes away and move on because we don’t know them, or don’t want to get involved? Untouched by the scene before us; or do we also feel their hurt and offer a shoulder to lean on or hand up?
Do we pay attention when speaking with others, listening to what isn’t being said? Or are we being sociable only because it’s what’s expected of us?
Do we really care, or are we simply kidding ourselves? Has it been so long that we have forgotten when that brother or sister hurting was us?
One tear is too many.
