In my journal of many years, I have often written the conversations to Jesus, as though He were right in front of me. I know and believe that He is there close by. So often I wait after my entry to HIM, to listen to His voice, to answer. I have never shared this type of information in a public forum, but it was placed on my heart to do so with just this one piece. I share a personal part of myself and my writings.
May 10th, 2023, 2: a.m. 4th Wedding AnniversaryMy sweet Jesus, thank You for giving my marriage another year to be blessed. Starting over with marriage at a senior age is not easy. Marriage is a beautiful union between a man and a woman, where despite obstacles, heartache, tears, laughter, and joy, all mixed together, create a bond meant to last for always. The Sacrament of marriage is sacred, and I am not going to judge those that have not been honored in my life of past relationships. Rather, I ask You Jesus to forgive my actions and weakness not putting my faith and understanding in action.
There is a saying I have learned; when we know better, we do better in all things. It is an easy path to walk out of a relationship that doesn’t give what we want, but walking the path of commitment is hard. In abusive marriages, You Lord do not find it acceptable for anyone to mistreat another. Many marriages are destroyed through adultery, abuse by a spouse, pornography, money, and most of all, lack of faith.
Please bless my marriage. Give me patience and understanding, as well as wisdom. Help us in our time of need to accept each other’s faults, despite the things that cause discord.
Jesus Responds:Prayerful daughter, I bless you both and I know the things that bring joy and the things that cause pain. Remember that suffering is part of what couples will go through to grow through forgiveness of each other. Many marriages fail because of the pleasures of sins that attack the soul, adultery, immorality, cheating, and stealing, abusiveness to one another. No marriage will survive unless one is humble, full of repentance, and finds only joy in the Heavenly home. Love one another as I have loved you.
Lord, I am content to accept everything from Your hands, all the sadness, the suffering, the anguish, even my own death, out of great love for YOU!
