Our Guests Stacia Solomon is a proud Gen Xer with over two decades in the field of education. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Management/Marketing and a Master’s of Education. Kelvin Rutledge is a Millennial with a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science, a Master’s of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. He has served over a decade across various leadership roles within various state, regional, and national higher education and career services associations. Additionally, he volunteers with various community initiatives and serves on the City of New Haven LGBTQ+ Youth Task Force.

STACIA SMITH SOLOMON
Stacia is an enthusiastic, dedicated and creative professional skilled with a diverse background of providing a positive direction for students’ social, emotional and academic success. She has two decades in the field of Education serving in roles such as Departmental Director, Assistant Director, Program Coordinator/Supervisor, Instructor/Teacher, Advisor and Student Affairs Officer. Her expertise is in training through workshops in areas such as leadership, self-esteem, multiculturalism, academic success and time management. She has served ten plus years experience working with historically underrepresented student populations – African American, Native American & Hispanic/Latino from high school through graduate levels of education, and six plus years of classroom teaching experience, which includes secondary and post-secondary levels of education.

Kelvin Rutledge is a people-first, goal-oriented higher education professional within the New England region of the United States. With over 13 years of professional experience, he centers and values equity, innovation, and collaboration to meet the needs of students, academic faculty and staff, and external organizations as the Director of Career & Professional Development at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. Kelvin has served in various leadership roles within various state, regional, and national higher education and career services associations. Additionally, he volunteers with various community initiatives and serves on the City of New Haven LGBTQ+ Youth Task Force.
