*This long disorientation,

I, now, understand better;

as my soul is rewritten

I have been learning again

how to breathe and walk

—under water and on air.*

or think you know anything;

preferable to keep very still

lest you might spoil everything

*Gestation is hardly time

for any grand pronouncements:

lie low, feed, listen for clues.
