Is there something that connects us all?

What do you believe?

Howard Marcus is nervous. After seeing the movie “Everything, Everywhere, All the Time” Howard is left wondering if there is a connection between all people. And if many of the people seem to be acting out of fear, desperation and false motives what can we do? Some even do things up to and including outright evil and criminal actions. So how should we live if we are all somehow connected to each other?

The pledge of Allegiance

“I pledge allegiance,

To the flag

Of the United States of America

And to the republic

For which it stands

One nation

Under God

Indivisible

With liberty

And justice for all”

Howard suggests A different kind of pledge

I want to become a better person

For the whole world around me

For every family member

For every friend and neighbor

For every stranger, traveler, and foreigner

I seek to be more than I have been

As I focus and calm myself

I will share with all people,

The fruits of my life

My skills, talents, and knowledge

My patience, concern, and unconditional acceptance

I will let go of any hate I have

I will cultivate kindness, forgiveness, and love

And seek to live at peace with all people.

“Everything Everywhere All at once”

A very different kind of film that is highly entertaining and introduces some themes that may make you question the way you see the world, your life, and the connections you have with all the people around you.
