The four attachment styles consist of
* Secure
+ a high degree of emotional intelligence
+ openly talks about problems
+ allows freedom within the relationship
* Preoccupied (Insecure-Ambivalent)
+ romanticize love because it's easier to form a fantasy love for someone else than to build something in reality
+ attracted to partners whom they can save or who can save them
+ over analyzing relationship
+ mistaken over turbulent relationship for passion
+ obsessive, demanding, clingy
+ struggle with low insecurities, low self-esteem, and establishing a strong sense of self. They grew up without healthy boundaries and little to no guidance on developing their individuality
* Dismissing (Insecure-Avoidant)
+ Emotionally distant in relationships
+ Come across as self-sufficient, independent, and can avoid true intimacy
+ Don’t want to be seen as vulnerable and will seek more alone-time
+ Shut down emotionally from connecting with another
+ Have very few close friends with others
* Fearful (Disorganized)
+ Unpredictable
+ Fearing being too close or too distant from their lover will often be unpredictable Often overwhelmed by their own emotions
+ They understand they need to be open to building relationships after a time they'll hurt them to avoid further intimacy or being hurt themselves
+ They fear being abandoned but struggle to put faith in their partner and rely on them
+ Fighting the inner conflict of wanting intimacy and resisting it
+ Have very few close relationships
