Hey everybody, welcome back. Friday, November 25th is American Indian Heritage Day, so Rachael and I thought we'd take the opportunity to bring the spotlight back to a problem that has been happening within the indigenous communities in the US and Canada - the problem of the missing and murdered women. We talk about it in this episode framed through the horrific case of serial killer Robert "Willie" Pickton.
This is a two part episode, so in the first part, we'll discuss Willie, and in the second, we'll go more into detail on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, what is happening today, and how we (and you) can get involved to help.
DISCLAIMER - neither Rachael nor Sophie claim to have indigenous heritage but we stand with those fighting to stop the problem. It is a real issue that is wrong and is affecting human lives, and no matter what their cultural background, other humans should work together to stop it.
