The word "Alpha" carries many connotations. To some, it may be a title they aspire to hold as a dominant leader; to others, it's a repulsive term used to describe egotistical commanders.
As part of the Alpha Pack, we believe that true alphas work as a team -- and they do not use their dominance and charisma to belittle others, but instead use those abilities to build others up.
Join Daniel Steere, Scott Wozniak, Jonathan Crabb, and Jay Hawkins as they share crazy stories, strategic wisdom, and practical advice about how you can become the true alpha leader you were born to be.
It's one thing to talk about general health guidelines -- but it's another thing to personalize your health as an individual. Every day, we hear about new health fads: new diets, new devices, new medications or supplements...But how do we know which ones to choose for ourselves?
In this episode, join the Pack as they discuss what it means to personalize your health as an Alpha. What's most interesting is that what worked for one member of the Pack may not have worked for another member of the Pack. Scott, Daniel, Jonathan, and Jay all share ways in which they have implemented strategies unique to themselves.
Through general guidelines and specific strategies, we hope this episode can shine light on how to apply health and longevity practices for yourself, rather than simply following the latest fads.

One of the primary fears throughout human history has always been the fear of death. However, alphas should not be afraid of death -- but instead, face it head-on. If others run away from death and try to ignore it, alphas should acknowledge death and be prepared for it.
Join the Pack as they give real-life examples of alphas who prepared for death well, and other alphas who did not prepare for death well. As you will hear, preparing for death can ironically be one of the most importantdecisions of your life.
( Also, the Pack discusses an interesting statement from one of their close friends: “What people say about you on your 75th birthday is more important than what they say about you during your funeral.” )

As you mature in your alpha journey, you realize that many concepts are held in tension. One example is learning how audacity and humility fit together in an alpha leader.
Join the Pack as they discuss what humility means--and doesn't mean--and what humility can practically look like in your day-to-day life. Some alphas become so laser-focused on one audacious perspective that they fail to see other areas they could excel in. (And more often than not, we think the only way to be alpha is to be in the spotlight.)
For example, think of professional athletes. We have a tendency to believe that becoming a star athlete is the only way to become an alpha in the world of sports. However, did we ever consider who signed these star athletes to begin with? They make even more money than the athletes themselves! Being audaciously alpha isn’t just about taking the familiar roads; it’s about zooming out enough to observe how you can be alpha in ways you may not have realized.
We hope this episode inspires you to think in a macro-perspective about how you can become an alpha in ways other alphas aren’t even considering.

Just because you weren’t born audacious doesn’t mean you can’t become audacious. In fact, parents often play a critical role in whether or not audacity is formed in their children at an early age.
In today’s episode, the Pack share personal stories and experiences about how audacity was formed in them, as well as how they are cultivating audacity in their children. Just as importantly, the Pack discuss how it’s never too late to become audacious, no matter whether or not your parents taught you to be audacious.
Join the Pack as they discuss concepts such as:
Having others “force” you to overcome your self-imposed boundaries
Borrowing others’ belief in your abilities
Leading by example
Being invited into audacity together

Whether you are a returning listener, or a new member of the pack, we are glad that you are here. Get ready for a new season full of growth, insight, and refinement, as the Alpha Pack shares the concepts and ideas that have been transforming them into better leaders in all spheres of life.
In this first episode of Season 2, Jonathan, Daniel, Scott, and Jay discuss their biggest takeaways from their most recent Alpha Pack retreat. Things start to get vulnerable as they share not only their strengths--but their weaknesses as well. For this first episode, we hope that it encourages you to realize that being an alpha is not about "having it all together." Instead, that's the whole purpose behind the "Alpha Pack" concept: you can openly share your weaknesses so that other members of the Pack can lift you up and support you. That's what being a Pack is all about.

Don't be fooled: even though you may see alphas achieving high-impact results, what you don't see is their periods of rest that take place behind the scenes. It's not just about working hard -- it's the balance between both working hard and resting that achieves great results. If this balance is out of wack, then everything falls apart.

Meeting as a pack every once in a while can be helpful -- but it is far from optimal. Instead, having consistent routines in place can exponentially increase the effectiveness of your pack.
Today, The Pack share why they have decided to establish systematized ways of meeting, and how this has helped them in all aspects of their lives. When you have routines in place, it is much harder to fall into laziness, discouragement, or defeat. Specifically, The Pack talks about:
The benefits and differences between accountability and encouragement
How routine meetings allow the specific strengths of the pack members to help you during your time of need
Different practical tips about apps, routines, and events for your pack meetings

Is constantly learning new information always necessary?
It would be easy to think that learning new information is always advantageous, but the Pack discusses why they stopped attending new conferences to absorb new information. In particular, the Pack discusses the concept of frivolous learning and “brain candy.” Additionally, the Pack does not necessarily always see eye to eye in this episode! They each offer their differing perspectives on what would be considered an essential conference to attend for a new learning experience, as well as which conferences would be considered non-essential.
You will also experience the Pack discussing and planning new ideas in real time, which may give you ideas of what a Pack discussion might look like in your own pack – with disagreements, jokes, and all.

It's not enough to only meet online. One of the most essential practices of the Alpha Pack has been meeting in person to discuss even the tiniest details about each others' lives.
During this episode, The Pack discusses why meeting face-to-face and having hours to be completely vulnerable with each other is an integral part of growing as a pack. Additionally, they discuss what exactly happens during these sessions (hint: it's not always serious), what they have learned during these sessions, and the most helpful practices that facilitate growth during these sessions.

The Alpha Pack didn't always exist -- but this is due to the fact that it was formed with intention. In today's episode, Daniel, Scott, Jonathan, and Jay discuss why they decided to keep the Alpha Pack small, and how this Pack serves a different purpose than others packs in their lives. Additionally, they also answer questions such as, "How have their lives changed since being a part of the Alpha Pack?," "Was there a grand plan to form this pack, or did things just fall into place?," and "How do their different strengths come into play throughout their time running as a pack?"
We hope this episode inspires you to think of what running as a pack could tangibly look like in your own life when you form your own Alpha Pack.

In today's episode, The Pack discusses what "running as a pack" looked like before forming The Alpha Pack. As you will hear, Daniel, Scott, Jonathan, and Jay all had very different experiences with quasi-Alpha Packs during their childhood and young adult years!
Additionally, The Pack discusses the principles that make any true Alpha Pack much more successful than an ordinary group of friends or colleagues. The Pack also starts to dig into the weeds of the psychology behind why Alphas need packs. Believe it or not, Alphas with a high drive for success might not be as self-sufficient as they might think.
We hope this episode inspires you to begin forming packs in your own life, as you begin to find your way towards creating an Alpha Pack of your own.

The Hustler, The Investor, and The Optimizer – these are the 3 categories that comprise the “Triangle Framework” model of excellence. In today’s episode, The Pack discusses how these 3 categories of leaders operate, and why being an alpha can look different depending on which category you fall into.
Additionally, The Pack discusses which style of excellence they personally fall into, and give tangible examples of how each of these categories have both strengths and weaknesses. Most importantly, The Pack discusses why gathering a group of Hustlers, Investors, and Optimizers together will actually help all leaders to excel even more than they could on their own.
We hope this episode inspires you to seek out your own strengths depending on your style of excellence, and consider how you can elevate your leadership even further by surrounding yourself with people of different styles of excellence.

In today’s podcast, the Pack answers questions like, “How do you define ‘energy?’”, “Are there different types of ‘energy?’”, “Is it really that important to have tons of energy as an alpha leader?”, and “How does having your own pack of alphas help to cultivate energy?”
This one concept could be the key to taking your natural abilities to the next level, and achieving success in every area you set your mind to.

Just as every individual alpha has an origin story, each alpha pack also has an origin story. In today’s episode, Scott, Daniel, Jonathan, and Jay reminisce on how their individual stories coincided to create the Alpha Pack.
Despite all of their various origin stories, one word is the key to them coming together as a pack: intentionality. If you want to start your own alpha pack, you can’t sit back and wait for it to happen – you have to take initiative to ensure that it happens. We hope that today’s various stories on how the Alpha Pack was formed will give you inspiration on how you can intentionally form your own pack, and how you can decide which members will be integral to include in your pack.

Unlike other members of the Alpha Pack, Jay Hawkins was seemingly born an alpha. No embarrassing high school phases were necessary for Jay to recognize that he could control the outcome of his circumstances.
In particular, Jay overviews how strong alpha leaders in his childhood helped him become the alpha he is today. Interestingly enough, these strong alpha leaders that influenced Jay weren’t necessarily in professions that you would expect alphas to be in – yet their mark on Jay’s life still pays dividends today. Join Jay and the Alpha Pack as they answer questions such as, “How is an alpha formed in childhood?”, “What does growth as an alpha look like from childhood to adulthood?”, and “How does controlling the outcome of your circumstances coincide with helping others?”
We hope Jay’s story demonstrates the fruit of having strong alpha influences in one’s childhood. We also hope his story inspires you to think about how you can influence a future generation of alphas to take hold of each circumstance and change it for the better, just as others did in Jay’s life, and Jay is doing today.

Get ready for some wild stories as Scott discusses how the seemingly least alpha group—a church choir—eventually lead to Scott’s “alpha awakening.” Scott recounts how certain boundaries that were supposedly off-limits weren't actually as taboo as they seemed if he approached them with confidence and charisma.
Daniel also gives his own perspective on Scott’s alpha story as Scott’s high school classmate. Not surprisingly, there was some jealousy among them; both tried to “out-alpha” the other to prove their worth (that is, before realizing the futility of it all). This was especially true when Scott came up with the most unlikely way to defeat Daniel during a high school competition! In this episode, Scott and The Pack help address questions such as: "How do self-imposed rules and limits affect your ability to be alpha?," "Why do some people not want to push boundaries?," and, "Should alphas compete to be the 'top dog' of the group?"
We hope this episode inspires you to consider what self-imposed boundaries in your life are much more moveable than you think. We also hope this episode inspires you to think outside the box like Scott, and apply an alpha mindset in creative and innovative ways.

Despite the way things may look now, Daniel Steere wasn't always an alpha. In fact, Daniel's upbringing often communicated the message that being "nice" was the highest virtue, which stifled any of his alpha tendencies. It wasn't until Daniel reached college that he learned to embrace his alpha personality -- but not before going through some embarrassing phases in high school!
Learn how Daniel swung from the extremes of "nice non-alpha" to "knucklehead alpha" -- and how he eventually realized that neither extreme is healthy. In today's episode, Daniel answers questions such as, "Are alphas supposed to be nice?" and "Can you have a 'pack' of great people without them being alphas?"

When we think of an Alpha's origin story, we probably are prone to thinking that it looks something like this: A conniving teen who was frequently known to push the boundaries eventually comes around, and uses his dominance to excel in his career. However, do all Alpha stories have to look this way?
In today's episode, Jonathan Crabb shares his incredible story of becoming an Alpha -- almost "by accident," as he likes to say.

Similarly, are there different kinds of alphas, or do all alphas behave the same?
These questions and more will be answered in this episode of the Alpha Pack Podcast.
