I spend a nice Autumn day exploring Allerthorpe Common in the heart of the Vale of York. A mix of woodland and field paths. I pass through the village of Allerthorpe and then spend some time in the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Reserve of the same name. There are lovely mature Oaks, rare heathland, and I find myself waxing lyrical about Yorkshire!
