Alisa Di Caprio (Ph.D.) is the chief economist at R3, a blockchain platform company. She does the macroeconomic and strategic analysis for digital assets, central bank digital currencies, payments, and trade. Previously, she was a senior economist at Asian Development Bank in Tokyo and Manila. As the resident trade and technology economist, she spearheaded the institutional innovation program as well as trade digitization efforts. she also calculated the global trade finance gap from 2013-2017. She holds a master’s in international economics from John Hopkins University and a Ph.D. from MIT in international development with a focus on labor economics.
