Today on the podcast, Jack and I talk about how he combines his passion for nutrition and CrossFit to help others achieve their fitness goals. We also discuss basic nutrition for anyone regardless of the way they choose to move their bodies every day. Jack believes that food shouldn't be labeled "good" or "bad," but that you should eat in a way that supports your lifestyle and the personal goals you have set for yourself. Jack is very passionate about his wellness journey and how he shows up to help others on the journey to becoming their best selves.
Jack is a native of Starkville, Mississippi. His athletic career began early at the encouragement of his parents. He started CrossFit in 2015 as a way to relieve stress and stay active while studying at Mississippi State University, where he completed a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. While his own personal philosophy on nutrition has changed since beginning CrossFit, it was CrossFit that helped him realize his passion for the field of Nutrition/Dietetics. Jack relocated to Tallahassee to continue his education at Florida State University where he is pursuing a Master's Degree in Sports Nutrition. In particular, he is passionate about how nutrition can be used in a supportive role with exercise to accomplish performance/body composition goals.
