That AI is a good thing and will offer many wonderful benefits to humanity, ultimately ushering in a utopian age of heaven on earth. If ‘bad’ players achieve Superintelligence first, then they will subjugate all opposition.What they mean by this is that if their own corporations reach the goal first, then they will dominate and eliminate all opposition, but if the opposition wins the race, then their companies and personal wealth will be wiped out. At a national level, it is even starker. For the USA, if Russia or China win the race, then it is game over for American society.The stakes are high, but in the fog of war caused by these forces, few seem concerned about what the outcomes will be for ordinary people.I foresee a coming personal crisis of identity, worth, and purpose.
