Be Something More is not a typical personal development podcast. This isn’t about chasing after your goals, but rather the decision to embody the MORE that you already are. This is an environment for continuous self discovery to unlock our greatest potential.
My name is Megan and I have been on a self mastery journey for 4 years. I started focusing on personal development in 2020 when the world shut down, beginning with building consistency with my fitness. After several months, God had graced me with the opportunity to study under the best mentors, growing in leadership communities with high performing, conscious leaders where I continue to learn valuable principles that I apply into my life and transform my mind, my body, community, and continue to deepen my relationship spiritually. Through this journey I have learned that we are more than just a body and do have the capability to create our lives rather than just being victim to it. My belief is this platform will serve as a way to grow this message, share this message, and give us tools to continue to experience this message.
Thank you for BEING here. Not just for listening to this podcast, but for being here. Alive. The only way that we can truly experience the love of God is through one another.
I am excited to grow with you and watch how this journey unfolds.
Welcome to Be Something More!
Silence has a profound impact with our level of inner peace. It is only within the silence that we gain awarenesses that transcend the body.
For we are not our body, and we are not our mind.
Awarenesses as such serve us well in our pursuit of anchoring into peace, especially while experiencing moments of high stress, anxiety, or depression.
I hope this episode offers insights, perpectives, and inspiration to disconnect and go within.

"Why is discipline important?" The answer can be easy. Builds character, gets us results, etc... But in my years of applying discipline I could never just settle for the easy answer.
There was a deeper meaning of discipline, for me, that was difficult to put into words until diving deeper spiritually.
In this episode I share that answer, as well as discuss the importance of holding a strong no to the temptations you want to see more discipline with, and share with you an action you can apply immediately to help strengthen your discipline!
Thank you so much for tuning in, and if you received value from this episode or any of the prior episodes it would help this channel tremendously if you shared an episode with a friend!!

Our most difficult relationships are typically the relationships closest to us. And I think God did that for a reason. How we treat and perceive the people around us, gives us a direct reflection of how we can unconsciously treat and perceive ourselves.
Difficult relationships may actually be a gift to us. They give us the best opportunity to grow in our personal development. They give us the best opportunity to practice The Golden Rule.
"Do unto others as you'd have them do onto you."
A teaching that is the most challenging teaching to apply. Especially during times of high emotions, and trying to defend what you deem to be justice.
In this podcast episode we discuss this topic further and share perspectives with high hopes of inspiring you to turn to love in the times where you want to choose the opposite.

If you've started your fitness journey, or want to, the reasons are most likely to receive some type of results with your body. Maybe you start because you want to lose body fat, build muscle, tone up, strengthen endurance, or any of the other plethora of physical reasons. The interesting, and ironic, observation to make is that you'll come to learn that fitness actually becomes a practice of going beyond the body.
A couple years ago my mentor taught our community about our 6 inner faculties. Giving language and context to learn and strengthen the abilities we have that aren't physical. And that fitness is one tool that helps strengthen them.
Abilities that have helped me continue to create my life from the INSIDE out, instead of allowing myself to play a victim to the events that happen outside.
Over the past several years I've learned through applying this information - that is indeed, true.
This week I decided to choose 3 of these inner faculties and teach how these 3 correlate the most on your fitness journey and how you can utilize your fitness journey to strengthen them!
I hope you gain insight from this episode! If you received value, please share with a friend or two! Subscribe to build this community together!

Dark night of the soul experiences have been some of my most painful experiences. Ego death is NOT fun. However, it is necessary for our growth. We always emerge with a higher level of consciousness, at least in my experience and in those who have shared their experiences with me. There are things that can be done to potentially help speed the process along and ease the pain a bit. I share the top three things that have helped me during my dark night moments - in hopes applying them may help you too!
Thank you for tuning in! Your presence is greatly appreciated.
This platform has been created to serve as a way to help you in your lifestyle/ self mastery journey, as well as be a source of conscious media to nurture your subconscious mind. In this episode I share a contemplation about how "the mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master." (Robin Sharma) By finding our identity in the things we feel, think, and do we will never have a consistent knowing of who we truly are. Our being will continue to be pulled in every twist and turn life has to bring us. It is like we would be building our house on sand. The foundation sliding every time there is a heavy rain. However, by acknowleding and practicing the truth that our identity is separate from that which the body perceives, then we are building the foundation of our house on solid rock. Unwavering in the face of adversity.
Thank you for listening! If you received value from this episode please share this with a friend who you think would receive from the message as well.

One of my greatest realizations has been, and continues to be, that happiness is not found in the achievement of our goals. For years, I always had thought that I'd be happy when ----- . The first time I realized that achieving my goals was a happiness illusion was when I hit my goal weight. For years, I had dreamed of being a specific weight. This was before I had any knowledge of how to truly measure progress when it came to physique and fitness. I thought my life would be perfect when I saw a specific number on the scale.
Fast forward to the day that was supposed to be the best day. I stepped on the scale and I saw that after years, I had reached my goal. At that moment, I remember consciously thinking.... "I am still not happy." "I am still not confident." "I still don't like my body, and I still am insecure."
Achieving our goals can be a happiness illusion. In this episode, I share this message and further reflections about it. I hope you receive value from tuning in! If you are someone who is pursuing a dream, and think your happiness will be found once you've arrived at your destination... this is an invitation to evaluate where you are placing your values.

If you look at the history of this platform, you can see this isn't the first episode or introduction. We have grown through several name changes as I continue to gain clarity for the purpose of this service. I started this podcast in 2022. Starting with Love What's Necessary, and then transitioning to A Girl's Guide to Growth, then it was Take Pause, and now are officially launching with Be Something More.
Be Something More is not a message of chasing a goal, but rather the decision to embody the MORE that you already are. I am not hosting this podcast to communicate that this is an area I have mastered because that would not be true. I have decided to host this podcast to create an environment for continuous learning and remembering the truth that we are more than just a body. For you and I.
I have been on a self mastery journey for 4 years and have been graced with the opportunity to study under the best mentors. High performing, conscious leaders who have taught me valuable principles that I have applied into my life and have transformed my mind, body, community, and continue to deepen my relationship spiritually. Welcome to Be Something More!
Recognition is something we all desire for, and don't get enough of. Most of us are way too focused on ourselves, the way we look, talk, act, etc. that we don't truly see the gift of the person right in front of us. This fosters internal separation and a sense of isolation. However, when we do get recognized for a great quality about ourselves, doesn't it just make us want to continue to repeat that behavior? Sure does! Something that I have a natural inclination to do is to give recognition when I see something I value in another. Probably because I am a "connector" in my leadership style, where one of the describing characteristics is needing/ desiring recognition personally. That gives me a leg up with my draw towards recognizing others, as I project it is desired subconsciously. This has served me well in experiencing a person have an inner transformation of what they are experiencing. I have noticed recognizing others and bringing their great qualities to the light and at the front of their awareness increases their energy and enthusiasm for life. Who doesn't love that?!
I share the story that occurred today at work that inspired me to film this podcast episode. I hope you enjoy, receive value and feel inspired to apply the power of recognition!

Growing up I ate the standard American diet, and had no clue about nutrition. Down to being clueless about the most basic facts, GMO vs Organic. I dedicated this episode to share education with you about our food! It is a vital part of personal development. Without a healthy body we can't have a healthy mind.

In order to lead ourselves, we must know ourselves. Learning the 5 different leadership voices has helped me determine how I take in information and implement, as well as act with my business and life. What's your leadership voice?
During an interview between Ed Mylett and Dane Cook, it was said (in paraphrase) that the jewels are when you are at rock bottom, so don't be so quick to climb yourself out. I thought that was a beautiful way of painting the picture of how we learn more about ourselves and how to become more effective with improving areas of our life when we are at the low of the lows. Powerful!

In today's episode I shared a story of what happened when I had put myself in a harmonious space. I think when we live in harmony, we become more attractive... what do you think?

We break down the 1st secret to success in Brian Tracy's book... 21 Secrets of Self Made Millionaires. To preface, I know my economic status is definitely not self made because I have tons of mentorship. But, other than the title, I think the principles in this book are AMAZING. I can definitely see them manifested in my life. Hope you enjoy!

This is my formula to discipline! Start a challenge, get a coach, join a community. We do more for others than we do for ourselves, so having an outside accountability is key! The outside accountability is actually the number 1 thing that has helped me begin to master discipline with my lifestyle.

Going to my first OSU game inspired me! Leaving a legacy is not for me! It is for those who come after me. If you are someone who wants to build something great and have it continue to build after you're gone, I definitely recommend putting yourself in an environment where a legacy has been built so you can observe it, or put yourself in an environment where a legacy is being built. November 5th, Rising Phoenix is having or first ever Success School. I invite you to come set foot and catch the mind of success. The principles I've learned from the mentors I have has changed the way I live, breath, walk, talk, EVERYTHING. I am a completely elevated person and my hand is extended for you to be my guest:) A definition of legacy is "something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past the legacy of the ancient philosophers" (Merriam Webster).

Open- mindedness is the result of a mind that is non judgmental. When we are living from an open space we can receive guidance from the higher Source for how to think, heal, forgive. This was the last attribute of the teachers of God. Which is the last episode in our series, Lessons of a Higher Teaching. This was a fun first series! If you had enjoyed this first journey, feel free to subscribe, download, and send to anyone you feel like would resonate with this. See you Monday!

Growing up, my mom had a phrase she would live by... Keep Faith. Faith is complete trust or confidence in something or someone. When we surrender and allow ourselves to enter in to a space of faith, we are literally exiting out of survival mode. Out of the mode of the ego, and stepping into Love. It seems scary lowkey. Today we discussed how faithfulness is a key element in our spiritual development and mastery. Faithfulness combines all of the attributes we have been discussing. Acceptance, trust, honesty, tolerance, gentleness, joy, defenselessness, generosity, and patience.
I am definitely still experiencing dark night of the soul moments. But after all dark moments comes a deeper understanding and wisdom. If you are going through dark times ask your higher self/ Holy Spirit/ whatever higher consciousness to help guide your thoughts to develop that deeper wisdom. I realize, true peace can only be found in the present moment in a surrendered space. And all concepts, even the ones we discuss on this podcast, in a higher sense, don't actually mean anything LOL but it's fun to pretend!

What is it that we REALLY wish to keep? It isn't the money, the material things, but I think it is the sense of safety, confidence, happiness, love that we think we receive from having those things. Generosity doesn't mean to give something away and it's gone forever. To be generous is to GIVE so we can keep, maybe not those material things (even though giving the material things is a great practice of trust because it helps us realize our safety is not in the materials... even the materials flow in when we give), but maybe giving away all the aspects that fall under the category of Love.
Whenever I am in a low vibration, and choose to give Love to someone... my mood never fails to turn back up. Giving and receiving really are one.

What are we trying to defend? Do we really believe we are that little that we are so fragile and insecure over anything that happens outside of ourself? I think the feeling of littleness happens when we are confused about our identity. When we try to make ourselves. The Course says that when we lay down our weapons, when we lay down all defenses, we expect to find danger, but in reality there is peace, joy, God.

I definitely just found one of the best introspective healing acts... do you have the habit of asking yourself throughout the day "in this moment, am I at complete and total peace?" If the answer is no, ask... "why not" The answer will arise, and then allow space for that thought to be corrected and healed. We don't need to be the ones to heal it, that's not our role. Give it to the a Higher power.
On today's episode, we discussed gentleness! A concept that helped me get through one of the most transformational times of my experience.
