In this episode, I discuss what stress is, how stress impacts us, and ways of managing and reducing stress. Many will find that a lot of the stress they feel can be melted away through different techniques and exercises like practicing mindfulness, taking action, and grounding themselves in the present moment.
Many people decide how they deal with stress, yet they may not realize that they are making subconscious decisions when doing so. Stress can and will easily creep through all areas of our life if we allow it to. In order to manage stress, we need to realize that we have control over the stress we feel.
Taking action to change stressful situations is another large component of managing stress. If you are unhappy with your current circumstances, are you taking some form of action to change them? What steps are you taking to make things better for yourself? Often times people realize that they are doing minimal, if not any effort at all.
Grounding yourself is important when managing stress. Realizing where you are and what is happening to you in the current moment is curial to relieving stress. This can be done through different techniques such as guided deep breathing and focusing on each of your senses individually and simultaneously.
Stress can be managed, but the art of doing so requires patience, practice, and most importantly, action.
