2023 has been a year...and we're only 3 weeks into it. I have been through the ringer and back and I feel like it took a major hit to my ego to realize that I have not been living the life that I have wanted to live, but instead have been surviving in the life that I thought I needed.
Back in 2020, I made a promise to myself to be in my highest self at all times. I vowed to have confidence, hold myself accountable, and develop my life of purpose because I owed myself that. Very shortly after making that promise to myself is when I got involved with Tim (my now fiancé).
I have always been a person in relationships that shifts into the role of whatever the other person needs me to be. However, I began this relationship with the intention to always remain true to myself. I feel that for the most part I kept this promise, but I very easily became comfortable with living a life in the roll of "wife" or "housewife" without diving deep into my wants and needs as an individual in the relationship.
2023 has the energetic message that we must shift, feel uncomfortable, and make serious changes in order to have the lives we have always dreamed about. For me, that meant taking a hard look in the mirror at who I have settled into being over the past 3 years in my relationship, and understanding and admitting to myself and Tim that that is not the version of myself that I want to be.
So what do I do? I shift.I have learned that in order for us to grow forward in a marriage, we must grow as individuals. Listen to this week's episode to hear my story and how I am handling this shift within myself.
