One of my commitments to myself in 2026 is to pay close attention to where my time and energy are actually going in my business.

As women entrepreneurs, we hold hundreds of small details every single day. Emails, messages, decisions, tweaks, follow-ups. None of them feels heavy on their own, but when we linger in the small things, they quietly pull us away from what matters most. Over time, they fragment our focus and dilute our leadership.

One of the commitments I’m making this year is to decide more quickly and move on. To trust myself enough to check things off, release them, and keep my attention on the bigger picture of where my business is headed. This is part of the shift I’m living into right now.

I see this as part of a larger time takeback that many women entrepreneurs are stepping into, where energy is treated with the same care and intention as strategy.

If you’re sensing this shift too, here are a few practical ways to work with it in your business.

  • Notice where you hesitate longer than necessary.

Some decisions truly deserve reflection and care. Others do not. Begin paying attention to the moments where you’re revisiting the same choice again and again. Ask yourself what would actually happen if you made the decision today and moved forward. In many cases, the perceived risk is far greater than the real one.

  • Decide once when you can.

Repeated decisions drain energy. Whether it’s boundaries around your calendar, how you respond to certain requests, or how you structure an offer, give yourself permission to decide once and let that decision hold for a season. This creates steadiness and frees up mental space for higher-level thinking.

  • Expect change and meet it with calm leadership.

Unexpected shifts are part of running a living, breathing business. Just last week, a venue we were hosting an event at suddenly closed, and we needed to move quickly. We stayed steady, made clear decisions, and trusted the process. The exact right space had a cancellation for that same weekend. Moments like this are reminders that when you meet change with calm, decide, and move forward, solutions often reveal themselves. Trust and momentum matter just as much as planning.

  • Shift from managing details to directing momentum.

Your business expands when more of your time is spent setting direction rather than handling every small piece. Direction creates alignment. When direction is clear, many of the details begin to organize themselves without your constant involvement.

Our intuition is one of the most reliable decision-making tools we have, especially when speed and clarity matter. I often pause and check in with my body and my inner knowing. Does this feel like a yes, or does it feel like a no? That simple question can cut through layers of overthinking.

I even keep a pendulum on my desk as a way to seek out answers. When we trust what we feel and move from that place, decisions become cleaner, energy stays intact, and forward movement feels more natural.

When a decision feels sticky, it can help to zoom out and reconnect with your bigger vision. Ask yourself whether this choice supports the business you are building one year from now. If it doesn’t meaningfully contribute to that future, it may not need as much attention as it’s currently receiving.

This season is asking many women to relate differently to time, leadership, and focus. It’s a shift toward cleaner decisions, steadier momentum, and leadership that feels intentional rather than scattered. More forward movement. More devotion to the work that shapes what comes next.

I’m curious what’s shifting for you right now. Where are you ready to decide, release, and move forward?
