Are you interested in ultimate questions? Have you asked yourself why we are here? How are we supposed to live our lives, what is the meaning of existence, do we have free-will, what happens after we die, what is it that makes us human and is Artificial Intelligence the next step in human evolution? If you are interested in the bigger picture, the world of ideas and how to make sense of it all, then Jaad-e Maiwand is for you. Join me in this journey to go beyond the usual cliches and stereotypes. Together we shall venture into the unknown without any reservations.

I am Maiwand Nazary, your host, friend and companion with a background in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Born in Afghanistan and currently living in The Netherlands.

I have lived my life according to one simple principle: the unexamined life is not worth living. I believe progress is born of doubt and inquiry. Millions saw the apple fall, but it was Newton who asked why. The secret of change is to focus all our energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.

Jaad-e Maiwand is not about me. It's about ideas and concepts, their merits, their intended and unintended consequences on our personal and social lives.

One cannot help but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality itself. Together we shall dive into the world of philosophy, psychology, sociology, politics, science, art and religion in order to try to better understand the world we live in. We shall meet interesting ideas and influential thinkers along the way. From Socratesto Decartes and Nietzsche, from Ibn Sina to Rumi and Rabia Balkhi. We're going to talk about the story of our universe, from the Big Bang to the present day.

One of the first things we are going to discuss is social media and its effects on individual lives and societies as a whole. We're going to try to provide new perspectives and hopefully a lot of food for thought.
