It's part two of our interview with Whitney Johnson Catt, BYU Associate Athletic Director over Student-Athlete Development, Diversity, and Inclusion. During college, Whitney wasn't ready or willing to talk about race. However, her job has given her a powerful perspective on how transformative the power of understanding can be for someone's life, and how to help people on their identity journeys no matter where they are in the process. Whitney also talks about reconnecting with her parents about her racial identity later in life, and how it has been healing for her. We also dive into her college basketball career at New Mexico and Southern Utah, and how she overcame devastating injuries after a conversation with a friend.
