ETHIOPIA - TIGRAY CONFLICT: AT LAST, TRUCE REACHED, BUT LET AU RETURN TO THOSE NORMS AND IDEAL PRINCIPLES OF THE UNION:
A historic milestone was achieved in the first week of November following announcement of cessation of hostilities by the major parties to the Ethiopia - Tigray conflict that lasted for two years. The dramatic pause in hostilities was achieved through a truce mediated by the African Union with Ethiopia's government forces and rebel Tigrayan forces, after a two-year conflict caused a humanitarian crisis in the region.
