Illinois still owes $1.36 billion on unemployment insurance loan balance and will replenish the fund for future needs. The bipartisan move by the General Assembly will contribute more than $1.8 billion in state funds to the unemployment insurance trust fund.
This past Monday (11/28/22) was the deadline to file petition signatures for candidates running for mayor of Chicago, and December 5th is the deadline for those signatures to be challenged. The panel consider which candidates might face a legitimate challenge to their petitions and note the one missing veteran who did not file this time around.
