If great things are done by a series of small things brought together, then Leah Souffrant, and her ability to transcend genres and span artforms has achieved true greatness. A teacher, poet, author, philosopher, and critic, her work looks within her varied experience in an effort to guide readers towards realizing their own way of knowing and thinking.

Her forthcoming work Entanglements: threads woven from history, memory, and the body is set to be released in the spring of 2023 by Unbound Edition Press. Her previous work, Plain Burned Things : A Poetics of the Unsayable was published in 2017 and is available from the Collection Clinamen imprint in interdisciplinary poetics from les Presses Universitaires de Liège.

Souffrant is a National Poetry Series finalist, a Nina Fortin Dissertation Proposal Award winner, a Catwalks Institute Artist-in-residence, and New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Poetry.
