Originally from Madison, Alabama, Dr. Phillip Sullivan is a higher education professional currently working in the state of Georgia. Phillip has a passion for youth and mental health advocacy. In May 2022, Phillip earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a graduate certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the Mary Frances Early College of Education at the University of Georgia. His dissertation, "Lifting Every Voice: Exploring Hope, Healing, and Liberation among Black Undergraduate Students at Predominantly White Institutions," reflects his enduring commitment to improving the experiences of marginalized students in higher education.
Beyond completing his doctoral studies, Phillip remains fervently devoted to community engagement. He actively participates in various professional and community-based organizations. Notably, for the past three years, he has served as Chair of the Collegiate 100 Committee within the Emerging 100 of Atlanta, an auxiliary of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta. He also regularly participates in public speaking engagements focused on mental health advocacy.
Outside of his professional and scholarly pursuits, Phillip enjoys engaging in outdoorsy activities, attending professional conferences, and cherishing moments with friends, family, and his beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Kobe.
