How important is coffee?
Welcome back to the third podcast of not without coffee. Before we get started, let's get in our relaxed zone. Do you smell the freshly brewed cup ready? Let's take a big inhale of the freshly made coffee and exhale. One more inhale through the nose and exhale out. It smells excellent.
How important is coffee? I mean, some folks say, what's the big deal? Other's are like; I can't go a day without my coffee. I need to walk around like an IV drip of coffee like those people in a hospital. I have a crazy story to share on how important coffee is to people later in the episode. It's the second most drink beverage worldwide, just behind water. Remember the title I gave it from the first episode, " Nature"s tranquility drink." Some have called it the nectar of the gods. It helps you start the day and finish the day. How do you feel about coffee? Is it your number one drink of choice? How many times a day do you drink it? For me, it's 2 to 3 times a day. I must have my coffee fix daily.
Coffee is so prominent in the U.S that it has its day, which is September 9th. In Japan, some spas have swimming pools filled with coffee, which is on my bucket list, by the way. Can you imagine swimming in a cooled pool of coffee? You know that's going to be refreshing. It's the second most traded commodity in the world. It's second only to oil.
For me, I work the late shift, and I get off at 530am. On my way home, I drive by five coffee shops, And the lines are out in the road with no less than ten cars in the drive-through. I go by three dunking doughnuts shops, and they have changed their logo from a doughnut to a coffee cup, with coffee being this important and very big. I think it's still growing at a slow but steady pace. Each generation adds to its growth and popularity. Fellow coffee lover, how vital is coffee to you? I used to work with a guy who drank ten cups a day. I thought my three cups a day was a lot.
Remember that wild story I promised earlier. You see, I work overnight in a factory. A few years backs, one month, we ran out of paper towels. No one real complained but a few pointed it out. A few months later, we ran out of toilet paper—a few complaints but nothing major. Guess what happened the last month. Yes, we ran out of coffee for just two days. People lost their minds. What no coffee? I can't work like this. Some left work for coffee and showed back later. Many complained all day. Others left and called in sick. Hundreds call the next day to see if work had coffee ready. Managers and supervisors collected all their change together to buy coffee and have it run out in minutes. We never ran out of coffee again. It was that serious on a scale from one to ten. Ten being the highest. How serious are you with your coffee? Can you go days without it? For me, it's a seven. I love it, but it's not life-threatening. Would you please email me your opinion at www.notwithoutcoffee.com? I want to know your thoughts on it.
I am coming up with a future podcast. I will bring more ideas and hacks with coffee to show you how coffee is essential and make a difference in our lives. I am also going to add tons of health benefits from drinking coffee. Another thing about how important coffee is. How is bring people together in a social setting? How many couples have to meet over a morning cup of coffee at the cafe shop?? How about significant ideas bought up with coffee in hand. I lived in Florida, and I remember seeing the sun rising out of the Atlantic ocean with a cup in hand. Have you ever had a fantastic morning view, and a great cup of coffee help made it the perfect day. Where it's directly or indirectly, coffee has made an important impact in our lives. Even if you just took a day off from work and kicked back and drank coffee all day. A cup of coffee, a great view with peace makes for a great day. What's your perfect setting with a cup of hot java? Is it a cold morning with coffee in hand?
