Back before decades of activism by community members, there just weren't many places where LGBTQ+ people could be themselves. In Seattle, the Pioneer Square neighborhood was home to some of the few establishments that were open to people of marginalized gender and/or sexuality - but there was always a cost. How did the community find each other, and how did they persevere?
