Hey, I recently read about the Aghori sect of Hinduism and it made me think about a philosophy I developed back in my 20s which I call "The Gospel of Blasphemy." The Aghoris are very unorthodox and unusual. Quite blasphemous if you can't handle the taboo. A bit creepy. A good group to reseach as we approach the season of haunts. I've also been obsessing over a pop-electronica band called Venus Hum. Maybe you know about them. They've been around for 25 years or so. I'm just now discovering them. Story of my life. Yesterday, storms moved through the south and made it very difficult to record a podcast. So here we are today. I really enjoyed it and it made me think about how challenging relationships can be. I've had some pretty stormy ones for sure. Like those storms of yesterday, moving in and throwing stuff around. Hi friends! How's your summer so far? How long will you wait for a table at a restaurant? That's kind of a personal research question. I think I waited too long this weekend. Thinking about all of the things we do to make ourselves happy but what are your essentials? What are the things you can always rely on to make you the happiest? I have recently felt some resistance when asked by friends who wanted to be called by different names or recognized as a different gender. What's that about? I do some examining of my own acceptance. It's a great cool breezy day in the ATL. Rare but I'll take it. As I get older, I'm concerned more and more about ageism. More specifically, what can everyone be doing out there to make my old man life much easier? It's something we all should be focusing more on. I had some great Korean food last night. Hope you did too. By the way, what makes food "Asian" if it's cooked in America? By a Latinx? All I know, it was really good stuff. So, Pat Robertson's dead. If you don't know who that is, he was a TV preacher who was apparently so scared of gay people, he thought they caused hurricanes and earthquakes and other world calamities. Not sure if they were responsible for his death but if so, it would be a great thing to add to your gay wizard portfolio. We'll talk next week. Don't forget to stay in touch.

I've gotten hooked on a new ID Show about sexual predators. I didn't want to get into it but it turns out to be pretty interesting with some very good investigation. Plus it's nice seeing those creeps put away for awhile. So, how do you limit yourself? Are you aware that you do it? I had to practice last week's topic this week and let go of a friendship. And, surprisingly, it wasn't so bad. I'm not sure my wife knows how to make chili. Did you ever watch someone dance and you just NEEDED to dance with them?? Something about the way they danced made you feel like you have to share in that moment with them? Yeah. Me too. This show is mostly about bipolar. I watched the documentary "Of Two Minds" on Amazon Prime and it made me think a lot about my own experiences being in relationships with people who deal with a bipolar brain. I wish we had more positive labels for the experience. I wish we all understood those friends more. They make our world much more exciting. Let's all work on that, okay? Yesterday was my anniversary. I innocently went and bought a card for my wife and then... aw man, now I feel like a creep. What's wrong with me? I don't deserve my wife. I need some counseling I'm pretty sure. Why couldn't I just get a card and get out?
Thanksgiving is history and I ate way too much. Instead of thinking about my gluttony, best move my focus forward to Christmas where I can participate in greed. I've pulled out my box of Christmas movies and I'm ready to start the marathon. Do you have favorite holiday movies you have to watch every year? Dann Gunn co-created the theme music to Apocaleptic. He's been a musician most of his life in bands such as "The Square," "Velocipede" and as a solo artist. We both were dedicated young Christians in our early life and had similar artistic influences and listened to many of the same Christian bands. In the interview we discuss keeping faith, losing faith, living life as an artist and staying inspired as a creator. I don't know what happened to my brain when I was calling the show "Apocaleptica" at the beginning of the episode. Hopefully that won't happen again.
