Vote Vets, an organization representing the interests of American veterans, have released a new advertisement calling out Donald Trump’s disdain for those who have served. Trump dodged the Vietnam draft and continues to refer to those who lost their lives in service “losers” and “suckers.” This ad collects his quotes and elevates the voices of gold star families, or those who have lost loved ones in the military. Todd has a deep respect for anybody who risks their life to defend our country, and he finds it appalling that someone so callous could once again become commander-in-chief.
After that, Todd moves to cover entertainment. The Maga movement hates Taylor Swift. Perhaps it’s because of her efforts to increase voter turnout, or maybe it’s just resentment because she’s a self-built successful woman. Todd addresses some of the latest complaining that she’s “ruining football” by showing up at Kansas City Chiefs games to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
On the topic of football, this year’s Super Bowl is set to be an interesting game. The 49’ers have had a poor defensive showing this season, and the Chiefs are riding a wave of success, leading us to what Todd believes will be a complete wipeout. Todd takes your calls on what’s worse between an unexciting blowout game or a rematch between Biden and Trump in the general election.
Finally, we wrap up today’s show with something a bit more lighthearted: a compilation of weather reports from a gen Z reporter. Kellin Harmon is an Emmy award-winning weatherman in North Dakota, and he tells it like it is. On location in icy storms, he explains the conditions directly: it sucks. Todd and Aaron hope that more news outlets follow in this style where appropriate.
