· Many respiratory viruses circulate year-round in the U.S. but they are more active during fall and winter. Side Effects Public Media’s Alex Li reports there will be vaccines against flu, COVID and RSV.

· The first case of West Nile virus disease this year has been identified in a Johnson County resident.

· The I-READ-3 test measures third graders’ reading aptitude and helps determine whether they are reading at their grade level. Third graders are not the only ones taking the I-READ-3, however.

· General Motors is not paying its Assembly Fort Wayne production workers this week. A steering shaft shortage is causing the Assembly Fort Wayne plant to shut down production for all of next week. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Tony Sandleben reports compensation for workers there will be complicated.

· An automotive parts supplier plans to close its northeastern Indiana plant next spring, costing more than 150 employees their jobs.
