Ozempic's cost is more affordable in Canada compared to the U.S., but supply stability and Wegovy's status remain in flux. Here's the call to action: Employees in benefits plans should advocate for weight loss drug coverage, sponsors should consider long-term workforce health, insurers should treat obesity as a chronic disease, and governments should explore cost-saving alternatives in healthcare. Together, we can drive positive change for a healthier Canada.
