In Luke 17, as Jesus was talking to His disciples about the coming of the Kingdom of God. Now I must admit, I must do a lot more studying to understand the full extent of this conversation, however, in verse 32, Jesus said, “Remember Lot’s wife”. You may remember the story of Abraham’s nephew, Lot, and his wife who had to flee Sodom and Gomorrah because God was going to destroy the city for its wickedness. They were told “ Don’t Look Back"! Unfortunately, Lot’s wife turned and looked back, longing to return to the life she knew, and she became a pillar of salt. She now represents those who are so attached to earthly things, and whose hearts are still in this world. In Proverbs 4:23 NLT, it says, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life". The Lord knows our heart, but do you know your heart?
