Living things are measured by the time of a lifespan. Trees live eighty to 120 years, some flowers bloom for a couple of weeks while others last only days, and people live an average of seventy to ninety years. We even measure seasons of history by their beginnings and endings: the Stone Age, the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, the Information Age.
