If we are meant to go out and make Disciples for Jesus Christ in His image, then we must work on our own image in the process. If we lack mastering self-control, discipline and love through the Holy Spirit working in our own lives, we will in turn take those same internal flaws, scars and marks and place them on the next person and the next generation. This is not effective ministry.
