We are setting sail for Japan. Sort of.

Today's journey take us into the two worlds of former U.S. Navy Sailor, Thomas Cook: Culinary Industry and Anime.

The episode starts off with us discussing the culinary industry. From the melting pot of New Jersey to Southern biscuits, we cover a range of foods. In addition, we follow along the timeline of Thomas' life in the culinary world, starting all the way back to when he was sixteen and making sandwiches. Along with this, we share how the working industry, especially the Navy, can be the death of a cook's spirit and passion for cooking.

From there, we continue along the timeline to Thomas' entry int M.E.P.s processing right before he ships out to boot camp. In response to my comedic charm, Thomas gets serious, sharing about how he takes a bit of a backseat in life and decisions, knowing that God is dictating the course of his life.

Then, we make it to boot camp, where Thomas' shares with us his special relationship with a dentist on base, and how he became a number one patient for Navy Dental.

After that discussion, we're approaching the end of Thomas' anime-filled days of A-School training when he brings us back to two major accomplishments in his life, where he managed to integrate his passion for anime into the Navy. I won't spoil it all, so you'll have to join us to find out.
