10.14.25 – Day 9/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell – Electric Moon 25
It’s a Yellow Seed day in a Yellow Seed year. You can sometimes get a reminder of what the year is about when you come home to its tribe. Yellow Seed is focused, pinpointed, capable of waiting but driven toward initiating growth and finding the right place to best come to fruition. You might be eliminating things that are not healthy for your growth. And now we are almost to the end of the third moon of the year, things are both becoming clearer and leaving the arena of challenge. You are likely starting to see what you need to ‘target,’ your awareness is growing, you are in truth flowering, becoming something beautiful, even if it’s the tightly compacted bud stage of such.
10.11.25 – Day6/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell – Electric Moon 22
The Yellow Warrior wavespell makes us fight, but not explosively, not in a tantrum. The reference to a ‘warrior’ here is an indigenous one, where the munitions were undeveloped and maybe maximally there was a catapult here and there with a boulder hurled across enemy lines, but overall hand-to-hand combat, with homemade weapons, was the only way to win. It’s more likely that a ‘nuclear’ version of combat happens in say a Blue Storm wavespell, with the power of the sky and its fire bolts creating mass destruction, than now. So by this midpoint you will see where you are engaged in a fight for your sense of justice, and to protect those who are vulnerable. Even if you are fighting with a selfish motivation – it seems that way to you, if you’re honest – look deeper. There are those who cannot fight, or see the aggressor and their own wounding (maybe they are too wounded to protect themselves) that you are standing up for. It’s just a weird tic of the Yellow Warrior time that you can trust what is aggravating to you as a just cause. And you have to address it, just for this time, then it will be released.
10.8.25 – Day 3/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell – Electric Moon 19
The Spectral Moon of 2025 is here. It might have woken you up, or kept you sleepless, under the full moon that ushered it in. The Spectral tone, of a collapsing wave, is an intense one. But the buildup of the White Solar Mirror year, a relentless ascendance of the challenges and huge disappointments of loss and sacrifice, has been nothing but intense, and any relief from that might feel like astonishing liberation and release. The Yellow Warrior wavespell always makes you fearless. It’s as if you’ve been given a shield and suddenly you’ll go into situations that normally would feel too dangerous. You surprise yourself with either personal or societal justice causes. It’s also a departure from your norms, an elevated and rarified moment. Just as if you were leaving the comfort of home for the journey to battle, the everyday recedes and you are focused on the specifics of what war is waiting for you, and maybe the one you must actively engage in.
10.5.25 – Day 13/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Electric Moon 16
When the Blue Night wavespell ends, hopefully you feel: situated in a home/shelter that you have in some way attended to, made safer or sweeter; had a massive nocturnal dream life, with long, expansive stories playing out in your psyche over restful hours; better off materially, or at ease with your material existence – maybe there’s been a windfall, but mostly you just have a secure sense of being provided for. I find this to be the summary gift of Blue Night, and it’s why I think of it as one of the charmed tribes for us to roll through. It doesn’t have aggravating triggers for the human ego, but instead soothes us where our ego wants us to have security. Being unhoused in this culture is a humiliation. Blue Night provides shelter, and so we are less ashamed. Lacking material ease – or money – also makes us ‘less than,’ so it is extraordinarily helpful to have time pass that supports our experience of ‘havingness’ or abundance. And now we say goodbye to this focused, honed security, until next time.
10.1.25 – Day 9/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Electric Moon 12
Blue Night is so lovely for teaching us to be easy with money, in and out like the tide. You might have surprise expenses here and there this wavespell, but your reaction will be less panicked and resentful. You know you can afford it, you feel abundant. To that end you might indulge in a treat or two, being spendy, for the same reasons. And finally, there will be treats you don’t have to seek out, little windfalls, surprise finds in the form of money right into your bank account, or getting something for free. The delight, if you’re usually frugal or underfunded, is how easy money is, how unstressful.
9.28.25 – Day 6/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Electric Moon 9
We are still held fast in the Planetary Moon of the Gregorian year 2025. I have been excited to track this fraught moment in lived history because it is a White Solar Mirror year and you can observe the demands of sacrifice every waking day, personally and societally. It’s a lot to endure and we are at the summit of its dramatic demand. This means it’s kind of at its worst, or reiterating the teaching, a massive emphasis that we are experiencing loss and disappointment and powerlessness. Somehow, we are also inflicting this on others, at times. And the sum total outcome would astrologically be described as using this opportunity of loss, of being gutted and broken, to rise to the heavenly realm. Not literally, but definitely allegorically. Definitely energetically. We are sacrificed out of this earth plane into the higher dimensions, and we are rewarded with the company of divine entities and inspiration. Almost there. Almost.
9.22.25 – Day 13/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Electric Moon 3
The current dominant theme for why ‘life is not a dream’ is the Planetary Moon of the Gregorian year, called White Solar Mirror. I have talked and talked about this because it is the key that unlocks not ease, but clarity, about the challenges that we are seemingly submerged by. Yes, it’s a new Mayan year, and yes, the White Dog and Blue Night wave spells we are traveling through are delightful compared to so many we have endured. But the Gregorian astrology is at an acrid, malevolent peak, and it’s costing us our stability and our serenity. So I am here to say we have a ways to go. Not that much longer, but it’s not going to be immediate either. We have to get through this Planetary Moon, and we are only approaching the midpoint. Pace yourself, streamline your life, and keep it simple and present moment as you function through all the static and also the malignant fever pitch.
9.19.25 – Day 10/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Lunar Moon 28
It’s a Planetary day in the Planetary moon of the year 2025. And I just mention that because it’s not fun or easy. The moon of Manifestation of the year we share throughout most of the global populace is already just so painful. So limited. So pushy and brash with the force of egotism. More to come for 18 days. And today’s intensity, a giant overwhelm, speaks to how hard it’s already been, how it can maintain this level of discomfort throughout, until the wave breaks. Listen to the episode for the clearer examples of such, and hang in there.
9.18.25 – Day 9/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Lunar Moon 27
If you are a regular listener, you know why this day matters. It’s epic. It’s sort of terrifying. What we have endured so far in the Gregorian year 2025 – aka ‘White Solar Mirror’ – can still accelerate and add to its victims. Please listen for the cautionary ‘prophesy’ about how to move through this extremely intense energy field, and for the reward (of a sort) I’m offering at the podcast’s very end.
9.16.25 – Day 7/13 of the White Dog Wavespell – Lunar Moon 25
Today is the guiding day of the current Mayan year, Yellow Resonant Seed. July 26, 2o25 was Yellow Resonant Seed and the start of the new year. That day is guided by Yellow Resonant Warrior, so here we are. Anything that happens today should be pretty attuned to what is pulling you, leading you for this entire year. The Resonant tone is about being open, hollow and receptive to the divine energy that come from some off-planet cosmic realm and touch down through us. It’s helpful to be infused with spiritual influence. This year is guided by the cause of justice, fighting to protect those who are vulnerable and against the invading marauders. It’s hard in a Lunar, polarized moon to see who is just starting fires from a sadistic impulse, and who is defending the weak and weary. But over the course of this 13 Moon year, we will come to understand it more clearly.
9.14.25 - Day 5/13 of the White Dog Wavespell - Lunar Moon 23What is White Dog? I think it is about our hearts. Sometimes it's heart connection, the love between two or several. But it can as easily be about the condition of our heart, and lately it's more likely there are aches there, and limited function, and weakness. I am not personally noticing heart fire and throbbing love verve. I am aware that my heart is shielded and scarred from breakages over my lifetime. I do love, and I have a bunch of dogs to show me how, but I am not in an arc of heart expansion. I'm in survival when it comes to love and radiating it outwards or receiving it in turn. I operate at minimum capacity. That is here toward the beginning of the wavespell, with time for restoration, and empowerment, to take hold. The purpose of the wavespell is to take stock, then to grow.
9.10.25 - Day 1/13 of the White Dog Wavespell - Lunar Moon 19It's a new wavespell - and a new moon in the Gregorian year 2026. What? Natural Time isn't about the Gregorian calendar, which is arrhythmic and artificial, originally retooled by the Vatican, Pope Gregory. But I have decided to decode the Gregorian year astrology, and the year 2025, starting January 1, is White Solar Mirror. Instead of dividing it into the 12 months of varying lengths, I just overlaid the 13 moons of 28 days each, and in the order we describe any cycle of 13. And we just today began the 10th 'moon', even though it's early in the 9th month (Did you notice that Sept-ember denotes the number 7 in Latin? Again with the chaos of a calendar unmoored to natural rhythms!). We begin the Moon of Manifestation in a White Solar Mirror year of - human sacrifice. And today a political figure was assassinated. The manifestation of sacrifice was so literal. White Dog makes us universally pity the family he left behind, and perhaps love our own cause as much as ever, polarized and tribal in our dog packs. But we can wait to see how things evolve.
9.8.25 - Day 12/13 of the Red Earth Wavespell - Lunar Moon 17We are winding down the Red Earth wavespell and it should be conscious in you how it's helped you evolve. Usually at the front end of the wavespell there is karma that presents itself. Some part of our lives shows up to be especially important and topical. Then we spend the wavespell watching it grow, shift, move down the road so that it's neither stuck in place or doing lightning strikes of dramatic change. We have cruised to a new vantage point or relationship with the karma. I like it! We are in the part of the Tzolkin - the second half - that has some easier tribes for the human psyche. We can do seeds and earth and dogs and abundance much more willingly and smoothly than addiction and snakes and death. So enjoy this part of the Tzolkin while you are in the hard spot of the annual wavespell, its earliest moons. Soon we will be Electric, alleviated by the entrance and assistance of the divine realm.
9.5.25 - Day 9/13 of the Red Earth Wavespell - Lunar Moon 14It's esoteric and atypical for most aficionados of the Natural Time calendar movement, but I teach about the astrology of the Gregorian year as well as the Mayan one. Natural Time is careful to reintroduce a Mayan year count that begins every July 26. We know that the Gregorian new year's is polar opposite, practically, so to move to the Mayan tradition is a departure. And all but a tiny fraction of the earth's population is fixed on the Gregorian calendar count. So after 25 years of my own practice and teaching, I decided to 'decode' through astrology the meaning of each Gregorian year. This one is extremely challenging. 2025 is considered the most fiery, fierce and fast moving version of the human sacrifice ritual that was a ceremonial bedrock (literally, stone benches at the top of pile of stone blocks to form their pyramid) of teaching the advantage of rising from this planetary toil to the celestial paradise with the ascended gods. We are all experiencing sacrifice: loss, upset, disappointment, gut punches and heart break. And on the other side of it we are receiving our own ticket to heaven. The way we are forced to let go rewards us by opening up the divine world to our consciousness. It's the high peak of this fiery, forceful sacrificial arc.
9.2.25 - Day 6/13 of the Red Earth Wavespell - Lunar Moon 11Red Earth can make us want to travel, to get on the open road and be unencumbered by immovable objects. It can also incline us toward time in nature, on the earth, particularly hiking our way over its geology, the layered terraces and locked lava flow. So if you vacation time is over with the start of a school year or inclinations toward fall's seasonal change, then you can just commit to walking the land around you, into the awe of canyons and mountain sides that remind you how much larger the eons of time are for the rock world than our human one.
8.31.25 - Day 4/13 of the Red Earth Wavespell - Lunar Moon 8The Red Earth wavespell has its various levels. It lets the planet itself show off its supremacy over the human population scavenging off it - so a late summer heat wave or vacation into nature where one is astonished by the OG terrain and prehistoric geology might be a teaching that the earth is eternal by comparison to anything our species endeavors. It also lets you feel like the planet, and the yen to move through space, on the road or in flight, is strong: to cruise, to go the distance, to dislodge stasis and be in motion. Then it also imitates the planet's volatility - the heiroglyph is of an earthquake's tremor - and you might want to dance or ceremonialize in 'ancient' ways that condition your body to act seismic and tectonically shift.
8.26.25 - Day 12/13 of the Yellow Seed Wavespell - Lunar Moon 4Thus ends the Yellow Seed portal days. I am not sure if they especially registered. It's as if we are so far into the vortex of high speed chaos, how can we know what is a wall, and what is a door opening through it? The house is swirling tornadoesque anyway. I think a lot about Yellow Seed representing a dumbing down or simplifying of brain activity and an expansion of other, visceral sensitivity. To light, to dark, to cold and heat. A time for finding a safe place to grow. Pulling back from industry and artificiality. The world is opposite that, mostly, these days, at a fever pitch of productivity and fakery. So we have an opportunity this wavespell, and this long year, to get closer to the experience of plant life, to cry out for simplicity and safe harbor.
8.24.25 - Day 10/13 of the Yellow Seed Wavespell - Lunar Moon 2The Lunar Moon instantly sets us up to feel that there are problems in our lives that did not have the same intensity or focus in the Magnetic Moon. In the earliest part of the Lunar Moon, it's like an assault on our senses to go from complacency or curiosity to wanting to register complaints. Something new that formed in our lives this Mayan year suddenly has a downside. The hints at complication or discomfort pulsing through the Magnetic Moon are now here in bold, underscored. And my advice is to lay low, breathe, weigh what you don't like - and recognize that you can't eliminate it. It's a part of your yearlong karma. It's a challenge, yes, but one you're going to have deal with and grow through, rather than try to dodge or diminish. We can also expect that others who do not follow Mayan spirituality are still going to have this edge. And I do recommend slowing down, stepping back, calming your own central nerve system as you adjust to your own challenges, rather than being immersed in others' as well.
8.20.25 - Day 6/13 of the Yellow Seed Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 26Pretty much come to the end of the Magnetic Moon, so please pay attention to what you can deduce your purpose is for this year. It's what came your way the last few weeks. It's perhaps the release of some element of your life that formerly consumed it, or it's a continuation of what you have been cultivating for a handful of years. Your purpose can be something active, or it can be the deactivation of what was occupying your mind and heart. It's obviously likely to be the fluctuation between these extremes. Some endings, some brand new beginnings. We shift to the Lunar Moon imminently, and it has a way of being challenging while identifying challenge. Take a note before we encounter that kind of intensity. Right now the question is What is my purpose? Consider writing it down.
8.18.25 - Day 4/13 of the Yellow Seed Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 24The Yellow Seed portals are here. They feel like fresh new growth and wide openings, but take note - they are usually indicators of what is to come, but not necessarily what is going to happen immediately. The seeds give you indicators of what you might grow in your garden, but it takes a minute for them to come into bloom and fruition. We are also in the beginning of the Natural Time year, so it feels new and promising, and not at all close to full manifestation, so the tribe and tone of the moment is in synch. Remember that the Yellow Seed wavespell is also a microcosm of the Yellow Seed year, and see what arises as a prophecy for you in this time.
8.15.25 - Day 1/13 of the Yellow Seed Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 21The Yellow Seed wavespell arrives so soon after the beginning of the Yellow Resonant Seed year. It's going to be helpful for us to be steeped in Yellow Seed so directly, so early on, to better understand what this year represents and beholds. Yellow Seed is the tribe that celebrates plant life, plant cycles, from seed to bloom and beyond. We are less cerebral, less carnal, and in some ways less complex. But we are hypersensitive to our environment, what helps us grow and what impedes us. We are drawn to light and sated by waterfall, and we suffer and draw inward away from extremes. Let this next 13 days be your augury for the year. What happens within it may be the microcosmic view of the whole, which is just at its inception with so much yet to discover and karmically play out.
8.12.25 - Day 11/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 18Blue Monkey, the wavespell, is a slog through child-centric behavior, and sometimes trauma. We have had a stretch of impulsivity, playfulness and magical thinking, and now it's time to get serious. It's familiar that this point in the summer is when we start to think of fall, and the return to school or work and the demands of a descending darker season. It's always around now that we click into gear for our Magnetic Moon of the Mayan year, and can't avoid or let go unnoticed what is our emerging purpose for the whole 13 moons. This, also, makes us more sedate than the Blue Monkey tribe is capable of. Hopefully you had fun, and lightness of spirit, or were just oblivious to the 'adult' demands of our culture, and can return to it refreshed, relaxed and open.
8.8.25 - Day 7/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 14Somehow, sneaky and quick, we are already at the threshold of the third week in the West of the Magnetic Moon. Things will intensify! We have the full moon peak, Mercury slipping out retrograde into its direct station, and the heightened, accelerated emotionality of the week in the West, the place, too, of transformation. Your mission is to keep calm and carry on, but I advise withdrawal from the fray, especially if you're taxed and tired by life at the edge of the apocalypse. I don't know how good humanity is at centering and breathing, so if you enter its crowds, you might add to the overwhelm this astrological moment is delivering. You can be overwhelmed and tidal and emotional and in the heart of transformation while also at the edge of the throng.
8.4.25 - Day 3/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 10We're hitting the part of the Blue Monkey wavespell that feels childlike, a set of days that disengage us from earthen reality and let our imaginations soar: Red Skywalker, White Wizard, Blue Eagle. If you are getting dizzy and disoriented, lost from logic and serious demands, that's exactly what this wavespell asks for. We're rewound back to our OG child selves, and also seeing this very current world through a child's gaze. If you want to just think about monkeys, then notice primate is the same as being primitive. Right now we are less complex and closer to the simplicity of being here now, but with all these fireworks of our active, explorative imagination.
8.2.25 - Day 1/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 8The Blue Monkey wavespell begins and instantly seems like a descent back to childhood issues that might not be resolved. Some of that is pure fun, irresponsibility and play. Some of that is seeing the world through imaginal magic and illusion. And then there's childhood trauma, or disruption, or patterns that formed back there that disempower you now. So it's a balance of what is great about childhood, and what was hard for you especially. Because this is the wavespell that coincides with the Magnetic Moon, you can say that your purpose in this new year includes the qualities described by the Blue Monkey tribe. Being fun and silly, getting a break from the adult-level misery of enduring our society's current failings. And also digging deep into childhood issues, and becoming free of them, resolving them into your adult nature.
7.30.25 - Day 11/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 5The White Mirror wavespell's intensity breaks today and ends its ascendency and strongest impulses. You were sacrificed in some way, perhaps you suffered. That action has passed and the end result is that you also feel closer to the divine realm, separated by force from the human relationships or the human condition. It's work to endure the wavespells that make up this section of the Tzolkin, and you are almost through the specialized intensity they bring. Next is the Blue Monkey wavespell, and the broader Blue Monkey 'Genesis', which is how the second half the Tzolkin is articulated. We are midway, and truthfully there's less hard work in the Blue Monkey realm.
7.27.25 - Day 8/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 2The new year began yesterday and we could pay attention to what Yellow Resonant Seed might represent by what unfolded over the day's events. I noticed that I was focused - the way Yellow Seed 'targets' and is earthy, on course for physical manifestation. I also noticed that I wanted to be close to nature, and also very sedentary. Blue Storm, for the past year, has been very turned up. I am anticipating that we will feel more static and stable from now on. Perhaps it was a psychic kind of day. I am acclimated to that, somehow, but we are now in a year of being Resonant, of having messages and inspiration rattle through us from a divine source. It's okay if your 'Mayan new year' wasn't as fiery and party-hearty as what the Gregorian holiday pushes. We can celebrate the 13 Moon renewal, but what we do here - in the path of Natural Time - is mostly pay attention, using our intuition and high sensitivity to be more awake. So a new year is a lot of new information, and in fact some weighty, meteoric new karma, so it might not also be fun.
7.25.25 - Day 6/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Day Out of TimeIt's the day between years, and the best metaphor is if the 'stroke of midnight' on the Gregorian New Year's Eve lasted a whole 24 hours. Or the waking day, plus the dreams surrounding it. This is just a daylong gift for those of us who follow an eccentric and esoteric calendar. We are organized on this path around totems and mystical implications, and so we get a whole day to make the transition between years, at a slow indigenous pace we cling to by following ancient Mayan teachings. The Blue Rhythmic Storm year is gone. We can't anticipate the whole Yellow Resonant Seed year, but we can get a pretty clear astrological reading of what it may entail by living deeply and with open awareness on the first day, its namesake and reference point.
7.22.25 - Day 3/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 26We're barreling down to the Mayan new year on July 26. Also called the 'galactic new year,' in the legacy of Jose Arguelles. I sometimes say the 'Natural Time new year,' or the '13 Moon new year,' but whatever you want to call it, it's our version of the annual renewal that is of course universally recognized as January 1 in the Gregorian. There are differences between the events, besides the opposite times of year, the different high pitch of seasons. But for now, focus on what's the same. One year is ending, and another beginning. There will be a shift, and a decided evolution once we cross over. You should take time to celebrate, in your own way, or find a spacious way to live where a sense of renewal can surface and be a primary focus. You don't want to miss the weight of it, and the honor that this tiny pocket of us feel to know about a totally different and esoteric 'Mayan new year' at all.
7.19.25 - Day 13/13 of the Red Serpent Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 23A C0smic day in a Cosmic moon, and the last amplification of energy for the moon, and for the year. As we endure, we transcend - thus arriving at presence. Probably you have been so present and in the moment for weeks now, you are a bit disconnected from reality. That's the gift of this tone, and why I consider the Cosmic Moon very suitable to the summer vacation experience, whether school age and liberated from the classroom, or an adult trying to wrangle and occupy school age children - or beyond when it's no longer about an actual summer break and its freedom/boredom, but we still slip out of the tight grip of colder months and a clinical, rational preoccupation with other people's expectations, with society's. Instead we slip into nature, or into another culture, or just away from simple dimensional experience. And we are 'out there,' in the cosmos, deeply aware of it and one with it, really. This is all about to change again, to the beginning of the cycle and the Magnetic Moon. You will miss this loose pace and being less densely packed with intention or ambition.
7.17.25 - Day 12/13 of the Red Serpent Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 21Whether it was the accelerating pace of the Cosmic Moon or the intensity of the Red Serpent portals, the last days have been arduous. That is going to ease now, as we finalize our Mayan year and roll into the next. I should say briefly ease, because we have the White Mirror wavespell next, and a Magnetic Moon that always warp speeds us into the new year's onset of karma. The human world does not work well with reptilian instinct and self-preservation. The Red Serpent time drives up our anxiety and removes the calming effect of higher mind. But we are through it. Another endurance test that we transcend, in the framework of the Cosmic tone, bringing us to presence and ultimately a practice of peace.
7.12.25 - Day 6/13 of the Red Serpent Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 16The Red Serpent portals don't have the same kick that I can recall from other intense, searing and reptilian-themed ribbons of the 10-day portal run. Maybe this is the gift of the Cosmic Moon, where we are ushered into a kind of vacation mindset, expansive into the universe instead of dialed into the details of earthly living. When we are 'out there' and off-planet, maybe that's the primary portal. Finishing a tremendous and horrifying Blue Rhythmic Storm year, in the wide lens of the Cosmic view, could just feel like a wide open doorway of perception, and any further portals fade by comparison. Nonetheless, they occur and we are halfway through. See if you can touch in to what that is an old, dead skin, is being touched on in your life but also released. See if you can find the moment in each day when something in your mind or mood is altered, as if by divinity - which is what the ascended Maya are, and how they guide us.
7.9.25 - Day 3/13 of the Red Serpent Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 13It's Donald Trump's Mayan birthday. Just a point of mystification. The great healer, who wants to be of service to others. The downside of Blue Hand is being a know-it-all, full of one's own certainty and needing to inform others how it all works. I know there are a billion people on earth who consider him a messiah, so I guess it's also just a matter of perspective. In terms of where Blue Electric Hand shows up in the Red Serpent wavespell, Trump has a lot of the characteristics assigned to this surrounding tribe. He is in service to the reptilian survival impulse. His performance is designed to inspire others to operate from base instincts and me-first ways of persevering and dominating. In effect, like a reptile, this is cold blooded and unfeeling. And he's a portal, so somehow he's giving us a gateway, or punching a hole into the foundation that we rely on so that we fall.
7.6.25 - Day 13/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 10Here come the Red Serpent portals. We haven't had this density of gateways - and wide open entry where things are usually obstructed - in eight Gregorian months. A long time. Red Serpent has a funny kind of truth serum in that we cannot override the body with our mental fortitude. If we're tired, we have to rest. If we're hungry we have to eat, and if we're libidinous, we chase the ways to express that. Core survival needs: sleep, rest, food, procreative sex postures. It's just how the reptilian layer within our human evolution gets to surface and be central right now.
7.2.25 - Day 9/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 6The Yellow Human wavespell does two things. It exacerbates the human behavioral proclivity of free will. It makes people pushy and grabby and determined to have their desired outcome. What a total drag to endure a jostling overpopulated planet this egocentrism. On the other hand, it makes humans 'yellow', or illuminated by light. Sometimes even illuminated from within, the solar rays penetrating so deep that a person is actually ignited for a while and can produce light for others. You will run into luminaries in this wavespell, living or dead, that make you remark, within the din of so many people doing what they exclusively want, what a really enlightened being that is. And you will have your swings into each extreme yourself.
6.29.25 - Day 6/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 3The Cosmic Moon can feel like Long Covid. Brain activity slows, loses focus. The Cosmic Moon can feel like an equatorial vacation, or 'island time.' You drift and are languid, willing to finally unwind. Take the pressure off yourself to be effective, a mastermind, to have killer instincts and fierce intention. That is not happening right now. You can still be active when you are sort of slow. It's just more of a dance than the machine gun fire of incredible accomplishment. It is a necessary spell of lower productivity, because when the Magnetic Moon arrives weeks from now, we will be dealing with a dump load of new, perplexing and overwhelming karma, something that will be undone over many moons until the triumph (that is now) of the Cosmic tone of being between urgencies, in the off-planetary dimension of the cosmos.
6.28.25 - Day 5/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Cosmic Moon 2The Cosmic Moon is a recognizable summer swoon when we can't be as direct and linear in our intentions, or expect to start and plow through our objectives. It's vacation mode. There's a time lapse for when things get done, or when answers to our needs get fulfilled. It's loose and off the clock. It's really sweet and dissolves tension or intensity, as well, once you recognize the spaciousness and feeling of floating that overcomes us. Early on, you can usually feel it as a fervent shift from the Crystal tone and its active plot resolution to our year's gigantic growth. You can feel the concern with the year's arc fall away, not labeling or assessing what actually got done. I love this shaping of time, when all is still and the cosmos is our direct surround, not the human species or earthly limitation.
6.25.25 - Day 2/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Crystal Moon 27The Yellow Human wavespell is the time when we can't escape into other archetypes than our own species and skin. Bummer. I enjoy all the options for other animals and weather schema and planetary bodies, as a constant reprieve from being stuck in the human dilemma and its current sizable reckoning. For now we can practice the incoming Cosmic tone of enduring discomfort. And also know that the balance of being in Yellow Human is to pray, to invite the influence of its antipode White Wind, to look for spirit communication and the divine channel.
6.22.25 - Day 12/13 of the Blue Storm Wavespell - Crystal Moon 24Crystal day in a Crystal Moon. It's both quiet and tedious. It's closing in on the Cosmic tone, in both this Blue Storm 13-day wavespell and the Blue Storm 13 Moon one. The Cosmic tone beckons. It's uncomfortable, and quiet and tedious! The resolution facet of the Crystal tone is fully in place, with just some light honing to do until the Cosmic moment arrives. So we can start to acclimate to the way being 'one with the cosmos' (Cosmic) is pretty vague, expansive, unfocused, inefficient on the map pin of earth. We are adrift and present with what is instead of planning or effectively assessing what has happened behind us. It's a great spiritual state, and by the end of 28 days of it, we won't want it to stop because we will be in the advanced state of transcendence and raw in our devotion to the now. It's coming - that's what I feel. And in this precursor, it starts to be pointless to be highly active and driven.
6.20.25 - Day 10/13 of the Blue Storm Wavespell - Crystal Moon 22Surprisingly, the Blue Storm wavespell - within a Blue Storm year - didn't have the same ferocity and velocity by today's highest peak as it did a week ago when it was still brewing. It was combustive in certain ways, but like a missed meteorological prediction in others. I think this is because of the override of the Crystal Moon, which so strongly emphasizes winding down of action and calming. In the surround of the still active Blue Storm year, we will stay in this dramatic pitch until the last day on July 24, but the doubling of the wavespells, usually overwhelming, seemed to be muted. That doesn't mean life is easy. It might mean we are so deluged that we are acclimated to swimming. It is promising to remember that in 5 weeks we begin a new year, far from Blue Storm's impact.
6.13.25 - Day 3/13 of the Blue Storm Wavespell - Crystal Moon 15Maybe the Blue Storm wavespell is starting slowly. I think that intersected with the Crystal Moon, there is some intent to be collaborative or cooperative, even as the storm arrives and stretches us with its power. But perhaps it's slowly building, clouds getting denser and darker, before the passage that feels like the sky splitting in pieces, the sky breaking down and crying. As we enter the 'third week in the West' of the Crystal Moon - my personal belief is that it is always the most demanding and intense within the 28-day moon count - there is invariably going to be intensification and acceleration. I would always encourage you to carve space into your life to be in abeyance to the karma that gets delivered. The 'upset' is then something you can work with or around, and doesn't derail you completely.
6.10.25 - Day 13/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Crystal Moon 12Here comes the Blue Storm wavespell, underscored in a Blue Storm year. You can see societally, and probably personally, that things are cued up to detonate and be disruptive. I encourage you to take the astrology very seriously, and if the chaos overwhelms you to absolutely withdraw. Hole up in introversion and isolation, minimizing the moving parts that suddenly are not smoothly operative but busted up into foment. The center of the storm is where the stillness lies. I also must reassert the intensity of this Gregorian year 2025, diagnosed as White Solar Mirror through Mayan astrology. It's sacrifice upon sacrifice, and for sure you feel flayed. It's not nearly over, and the layers of apocalyptic indicators are real and hard on our sensitivity. I am here to describe why it's hard. Hang on.
6.68.25 - Day 11/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Crystal Moon 10Popping in to share synchronicities as we let the Death wavespell dissolve. We can sense what died, and maybe with finality - or maybe it just crossed over to another world where there is less tension, more space. In the wavespells to come we will notice the subject matter evolve and shape shift, but for certain in the White Worldbridger time some things will appear to cease. 6.6.25 - Day 9/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Crystal Moon 8We enter the second week of the Crystal Moon, the cardinal direction north and the place of spirit. It's an excellent time to remember to pray, or communicate as you will with the spirit world. I think with some conviction that we owe the spirit world nothing more than our acknowledgement, and when we go to it with despair or appreciation we will be showered with recognition and perhaps relief. In this spacious moment with the absence of matter, be liberated into your pwn spirit self, deeper and wider than your personality, your present karma. It's a hard task in a saturated media-driven human-centric world, but this is the time to go into the ether, and expand into your own aura, unlimited by your skeletal shape and flesh.
6.3.25 - Day 6/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Crystal Moon 5The White Worldbridger wavespell is abstract and leads us existential reflection. Its theme and literal reference point is death. The 'worldbridge' is the passage from a sentient world to the heavenly one. So just falling into its unfolding sets us in a kind of deep reflective state, a disconnect from the idiosyncrasies we encounter each day and a reorientation to the larger themes of our lives and life - LIFE - itself. What is it all about? How is yours going? How afraid are you of it ending? That is not the outcome of this wavespell, but an understanding that it is inevitable that all your goals will be caught up short by death, allows you to evaluate what your aspirations and various accomplishments mean to you actually.
5.30.25 - Day 2/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Crystal Moon 1We made it. It's the Crystal Moon, or more notably it's no longer the Spectral one. That was an upsetting 28 days, upsetting being operative as a descriptor for instability, life being thrown into disarray, and all the emotional responses. Like grief. Like panic. Like overwhelm. And now, truly, it's past. The Crystal tone is about resolution, and calming and settling. It has arrived. It's not a panacea for all the ways we have been in disarray ourselves. We still have the White Worldbridger wavespell to teach us about death - that can feel stressful. We still have the wavespell beyond that - Blue Storm. That is the definition of disruption and chaos. But in terms of the year's cyclical movement, every time we pass through 'June,' essentially, we are in the Crystal Moon. And we can recognize that the joy or ease of summer - warmth and light and vacation - does seem easier to us all.
5.26.25 - Day 11/13 of the Red Skywalker Wavespell - Spectral Moon 25It's a Spectral day in a Spectral Moon, and the waning of that tone in our annual cycle. You can feel the intensity or overkill of the Spectral energy today, then kiss it goodbye for a year. It's a specialized, acquired taste. And an endurance test. But you passed the test, and you are stronger. You are more liberated, dissolved of tension or the fight for accomplishment and acquisition. You are more humble and amenable. You have let go. You are not a failure if you fell apart. You are not feeble if you lost control of your narrative, or your drive or will. You are just on an imposed vacation, downbeat, a dissolution. And when the pandemonium that works on the human ego has passed - imminently - you will find that you are actually someone who has completed bold and decisive karma, every part of an incredible and awake journey that included overcoming a series of obstacles and then launching yourself over the top of that steep mountain into whatever comes after. You are almost done flying through the air, and when you land you will recognize the terrain as actually a dear homecoming to yourself and whom you love.
5.22.25 - Day 7/13 of the Red Skywalker Wavespell - Spectral Moon 21The days keep intensifying, and there's not a true end in immediate sight. But we are stepping out of the 'third week in the west,' or the accelerated and transformative section of the Spectral Moon, and hopefully the pace and urgency can scale down a tad. There's also a weekend of some equanimity coming, and even some prognosis of slighter calm next week as well. In other words - hang on, it's a gnarly wave break and we are getting thrashed. This level of discomfort might be the outer max, so if you can get through it, you're acclimated to the kind of drama that usually tracks through this part of the Tzolkin, every cycle.
5.21.25 - Day 6/13 of the Red Skywalker Wavespell - Spectral Moon 20Today is a portal day. It's helpful to pay attention to them, but I am reminded that once we discovered the internet and smashed our computers down to pocket size, we normalized having wide open gateways through time and space to the point that every nanosecond is a portal. So when they arise every now and then in the Tzolkin, who really cares? You can, a little. It's an intensification of the tribe and tone at hand, and also there's a door where the was formerly a wall, and you pass through. We combine that portal process with the White Mirror ritual of sacrifice, of giving up control and accepting an invitation into a much more heavenly space, via our own physical suffering. Physical here just means sentient, embodied in our incarnation. The sacrifice could be in work, relationship, walking through your day and creating an ache in any of your limbs that reminds you that to be human and planetary involves suffering. But if we endure it, we allow it, we experience transcendence. That is White Mirror, the way into the ultimate comfort of feeling our surroundings more truly reflecting, and affirming, ourselves.
5.18.25 - Day 3/13 of the Red Skywalker Wavespell - Spectral Moon 17This is a special edition to address the 'why is life hard?' question that can emerge at obvious moments in the stacked layers of Natural Time. I spoke last podcast about the Red Skywalker wavespell and how I believe it ushers in a long string of wavespells that challenge the human egoic wants, humbling us. This episode reminds you that it's not only the part of the Tzolkin we've entered that can stress our ease. It's also the Blue Rhythmic Storm year, and the Spectral Moon within it. The year is cacophonous and demanding of internal and external transformation. The moon undoes stability and even the outward-facing achievement we may have felt pride about when we hit our Planetary peak. And there is the overlay of the year 2025 having the Mayan astrological orientation of sacrifice. I guess this episode is for those who need reminders that you are not making up any pain or struggle that is arising. It's universal, and it's natural. Hang in there.
5.17.25 - Day 2/13 of the Red Skywalker Wavespell - Spectral Moon 16Red Skywalker is so distinctively like being high that I encourage you to move through these 13 days without adding any actual plant spirit medicine to its baseline. Immediately I am more spaced out, out of body, weightless and detached from a bunch of reality. That is a good place to swing into from time to time, and for the 13 day arc of Red Skywalker we can affirm our cosmic consciousness and take a break from hardcore planetary intensity. You probably are feeling called to get high separate from this natural state - that is, to escape. All the ways to escape, your own personal trove of shortcuts to disembodied 'bliss,' are beckoning. Again, try to imagine not piling on inebriants to this expansive and wondrous moment, or slow it down and simplify your escape plan so you can actually pay attention to its nuance, and not just obliterate.
5.15.25 - Day 13/13 of the Yellow Sun Wavespell - Spectral Moon 14We are moving into two very intense passages, the third week of the Spectral Moon and the Red Skywalker wavespell. They are intense because they undo stability. Red Skywalker is a time of prescribed disassociation, traditionally through plant spirit medicine. In other words, it's a time to get high. Or feel as though you are. The energy field of Red Skywalker is that out of body, elevated and mystical space that imitates all the biochemicals and pharmaceuticals people use. At the same time, we are plunging with more acceleration and topsy-turviness through the Spectral Moon's breaking wave dissolution process. Things may be falling apart before they also fall into place. 'Letting go' is pretty easy right now - in fact, it's hard to hold on. If you feel aspects of your life slipping out of your control, trust that this is for the highest good, and open your unclasped hands even wider.

1.17.21 - Day 9/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Resonant Moon 8
It's close to the end of the Mystic Column. The last 20 days count as a continuous portal run, maybe without the spiked intensity of days that pop alone in the rest of the Tzolkin. It's more like a micro-dosed, slow-burn gateway then a potent psychedelic paradigm shift. As we conclude with Yellow Planetary Sun, we return to the light, we rise to it. And then we start again in the Tzolkin's eighth column at the top, in Red Dragon, for our next rebirth.
1.12.21 - Day 3/13 of the Blue Monkey Wavespell - Resonant Moon 3
Blue Monkey Genesis! That's an old, old Arguellian term from the origins of Natural Time. There was a pseudo-board game called Dreamspell that Jose Arguelles invented, sort of like Dungeons and Dragons and also like a UFO manual. It spoke of the first 130 days of the calendar count - the Tzolkin - as the Red Dragon Genesis, initiated by the Red Dragon wavespell. The second 130 days start with the Blue Monkey wavespell, and we're in that time now. The second half of the Tzolkin is less arduous in many ways. That seems accurate about Blue Monkey itself. I think of Red Dragon as birth, nurturance, the Great Mother of us all, and Blue Monkey is the child. We are shown life full of lessons through a mother's eyes in the Red Dragon Genesis, and in the Blue Monkey Genesis we get to try things out on our own, a bit of independence and in some ways there's less challenge, ever-arduous and demanding life lessons. So we're in the Blue Monkey time, the wavespell, the Genesis, and we get to be childlike and playful for a while.
1.2.21 - Day 7/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Rhythmic Moon 21
The Tzolkin is depicted as 13 columns with 20 days each, one for each of the 20 tribes. The central column of the Tzolkin - the seventh of thirteen - is called the Mystic Column. It's the only column without any portal days. That would seem to indicate there is no portal energy for the whole 20-day run, but the reverse is true. It's as if the entire central column is a portal, a channel running between heaven and earth. It's just more nuanced than the portal days we color black, less dramatic. There's a gentle, fluid and peaceful opening we enter when we get to this middle column, as if we're moving in slow motion or the weightlessness of outer space. This is the physical experience of mysticism. We are just a few days in so see where you float off to in those that remain.
12.27.21 - Day 1/13 of the White Mirror Wavespell - Rhythmic Moon 15
We're entering one of the most essential and culturally alien sectors of the Tzolkin. White Mirror is a euphemism for the human sacrifice ritual that the Maya are infamous for - and possibly why they are rejected from a rarified role in the enduring canon of world spirituality. Obsidian rock was used for the blade that cut the heart out of a sacrificial victim, and it's what people polished to see their own reflection. We are in the White Mirror wavespell and it's the ancient time of ritual sacrifice. It's watered down in our modern age to be an iteration of what that sacred act offered: confrontation of fear, reduction of all extraneous focus, ascendance to an otherworld, charged with divinity. We will have our versions of losing what we're grasping, and our own importance. We will feel immediately in the space that has been cleared of material attachment a greater connection - a pathway - to the heavens. It's the usual ego shattering arc: we let go of control and we gain access to god. So your work this wavespell is to allow the fear and loss to arise without resistance. It's organic, timely, sacred.
12.23.21 - Day 10/13 of the Red Serpent Wavespell - Rhythmic Moon 11
It's John Lennon's Mayan birthday. I think a lot in the Red Serpent time about survival, the base instinct of a reptilian existence that drives life, and makes fixated self-preservation possible - not distracted by overly imaginative thoughts. It's a thrill to feel safe in the Red Serpent surround, 'I will survive.' John Lennon, born in the Red Serpent wavespell, did not. He was murdered, and we were all caught off guard as he was in that moment. Each day of a wavespell - each person born on such a day - serves the tribe's intent. White Planetary Wizard is the peak of the Red Serpent wavespell, the highest point of its power of survival, but it's also when the journey of ends. When the maximum energetic force is beat back by something much larger and impregnable. So John Lennon survived the loss of parents, the trauma of childhood, the demands of fame, the disintegration of his band of brothers, the reflexive judgment of the fanbase, all of the cultural fixation...and then he succumbed early to death. His planetary influence as a wizard-shaman lives on.

We're halfway through the portal days of the Red Serpent wavespell. Think of them as energetic doorways where there have been walls, or as if a thicket of obstruction has been cleared. We just walk through. Sometimes there's velocity in the vacuum force pulling us into the opening, and that can be intense, disarming. Sometimes it's just like the best moments of moving through cultural bureaucracy, when things work and you feel fluidity and ease. If you prepared yourself, you know the limitations of Red Serpent and are able to make the adjustment into limited visionary awakening, lessening of sharp analytical capability, and are just enjoying being close to the earth, adept at survival because you are so focused only on it. The portals help us shed our old, worn snakeskin, and we can in actuality really thrive in the process of losing that old constriction.
12.12.21 - Day 12/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Overtone Moon 28
The Overtone Moon is over, and the Rhythmic Moon begins. We have been living the Jose Arguelles-coined question How can I best empower myself? for the last 28 days. Now we turn to the more convoluted and brain-bending How can I extend my equality to others? It's always nice to have a whole moon to try to understand the intent of the Rhythmic tone, and the complexity of the question Jose invented to accompany it. It's nice to keep the question in mind as a riddle, not just for the answer, but in its mystical intent. We will learn we are equal to others in this time - that's implicit in our ability to then give that sense of sameness and power balance out to the world. It's a potential for class and race harmony over conflict - equality extended where it's too often denied. It's an egoless stance: I am equal, not better, to others and I'm going to let them know I know it. It's a seasonal act of humility, of deference, of easing tension. I don't know why more Christmas holiday gatherings don't seem to hold so much of that, but maybe if we focus on the Rhythmic Moon, and the Natural Time's inclusion of Solstice and another approaching full moon, and not the mercantile side of Christmas and "New Year's," our own experience will be one of peace.
12.8.21 - Day 8/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Overtone Moon 24
The Yellow Human wavespell feels stultifying and cynical. The human experience is not that impressive this time around. Free will, one of the descriptors Jose Arguelles gave us for the Yellow Human tribe, has become an ugly feature of the human personality, run amok, rather than something we would esteem. It's another way to say 'I'll do whatever the fuck I want,' at its worst. And at its best, free will means we fight oppression - with the fallibility of also using our will to oppress others. We're so mired in hypocrisy and the inability to see how much we project our failings onto others, as a species. And this is the fun run through the Yellow Human wavespell. It's nearing its capitulation point, however, with a Storm day, a brilliant Sun day and then arrival in the maternal vessel of Red Dragon. That the Yellow Human wavespell peaks at Red Planetary Dragon reminds us that at our best, our closest to divinity, we are deeply feminine and holy, nurturing and caring for others.
12.2.21 - Day 2/13 of the Yellow Human Wavespell - Overtone Moon 18
Yellow Human is upon us - we get to see our species from the outside while being inside its Mayan designation. I think, if we follow this calendar, we are liberated from being human most of the time. We instead get to be animals and celestial bodies and weather fronts. We get to be specified roles in human culture that are rarified: the warrior, the shaman, the priest. But then we come home to our karmic embodiment of the human being, homo sapien, for 1/20th of the Tzolkin time. And after shapeshifting into other elements, other animals, we can suddenly assess what is special and different about our own species. One thing, we're certainly smart, learned, honed in our ability to make real what our minds actively imagine. On the other hand, we can't fly, can't orbit the cosmos, can't explode fire from water particles, can't even shimmy up trees and swing from their branches. So the Yellow Human time is full of capability and accomplishment, but the concrete kind. Celebrate your know-how, your life experience that has taught you lessons, your wisdom from so much vast brain activity. 11.27.21 - Day 10/13 of the Blue Storm Wavespell - Overtone Moon 13
The Blue Storm wavespell is at its peak. Can you feel the wild weather disturbances around you? Are you having breakthroughs from denial, resistance, any kind of pervasive slog or fog? These are Blue Storm indicators, at their highest pitch. Try to account for how you were unstoppable the past ten days, and how you were unstable, too. All of the sturm und drang is about to ebb, however, as we capitulate to Red Spectral Moon and the soothing flood of water that is the Blue Storm tribe's antipode. A storm's strength comes from a combustive mix of water and air - and fire! An alchemical explosion. What makes the storm swoon is a mass of one of these elements, instead of an unsteady mix of all three. And we're heading into the day of water, the extreme influence of water, and the swells it brings to calm our nerves and mood. Therein Blue Storm has served its purpose, to transmute tension into tear-break that fills us with feelings, with life.

The Overtone experience is one of empowerment, and it doesn't go away once the tone shifts to the next, Rhythmic, and the next, Resonant, etc. It's the wonder of the Overtone time that we simply emerge into empowerment - radiance - that will sustain us through the wavespell's entire climb and the Planetary peak. We add things to our empowerment - Rhythmic order, Resonant psychic ability, Galactic integrity and so on - but we are meant to keep the power source that emerges from within, for the whole run. It's like stoking an internal fire from ember to reliable source of warmth. What you may experience now as ease is a form of health and wholeness, when you find the inner combustion to come alive and aren't dependent on other people or different outcomes, you're purring along engaged with yourself and your power. It's not power over others, just power within you.

The Blue Storm wavespell is a journey into awakening from denial. To start the journey, we have to discover what our denial is. For a 13-day Blue Storm wavespell, that's going to be one important factor of our denial, not every last thread of it. If you're uncomfortable at the outset, it's because you're shifting from not knowing to knowing, not feeling to full sensory recollection. The psyche is stirring, and so then the sky. Like the storm your feelings shake tension out of you in outbursts, your mind is stuck in dullness until it explodes vividly, and maybe grief outpours. Then the post-cry peace comes, and stillness, serenity - awakening. We have 13 days to go from one aspect to the other, and we can't avoid the process upon us. Can't deny it any longer, further.
11.15.21 - Day 11/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Overtone Moon 1
The Overtone Moon begins today, ushering us toward winter darkness and the quietude demanded of the season with a spark inside only getting hotter, brighter. Every year at this time we feel our annual wavespell lift off in described qualities of empowerment and radiance even as the Northern Hemisphere milieu is colder, days are shorter, personal solar power is limited. We feel the losses of light physically, but in the spirit world we are ignited with force and directivity. That's Overtone energy, lifting us up and off the surface of reality towards entrance into the holy atmospheric heavens. On a functional level, the hard work of the 13 Moon wavespell's inception - an invigorating Magnetic Moon, a limiting Lunar one, the tactical preparation that is demanded in the Electric and Self-Existing Moons - pays off. Now we run with what has been arduously and carefully put in place. We had to be slowed and considerate for the first four stages, but in the fifth Overtone moment, it's go time. The acceleration might upset your equilibrium, but it will carry you through the inevitable ascent of the next four moons and the wave's highest peak.
11.11.21 - Day 7/13 of the White Worldbridger Wavespell - Self-Existing Moon 25
The White Worldbridger wavespell is the big metaphor for death. You hopefully are not having strongly literal exposure to death, although if that happens it has sacred and synchronistic nuances and could feel actually natural in this passage. But probably you can point to the small deaths that occur daily, routinely or accrue in a big, building crush. There is so much comfort in embracing the word death, the Death tribe, the allowance of endings. Most of us in a myriad of ways try to orchestrate some parts of our life to be neverending: in love, in material ease, in health, in beauty. Allowing death to overtake us, bathe and nurture us in the truth that everything we grasp is ultimately dispersed by one ending or another, soothes our fear and control and drops us into acceptance. All the buzz words for a more peaceful daily experience. White Worldbridger gives so much spaciousness and expansion for every egoic control-valve we have to release in this time. We'll miss it when it's gone.

It's the final week of the Self-Existing Moon and time for a recap about what form your service is to take this 13 Moon Mayan year. You should be able to retrace the last couple of weeks and see opportunities and directions you were shown that fill in the blank of your specific offerings and actions of service. These really don't have to seem like cliche acts of charity. It just means that your soul is destined to act in certain ways that are the fullest expressions of your gifts, and yes - others will benefit. Others benefit whenever we act in truth and integrity instead of self-denial and brokenness. So try to pay attention to what has amassed of the last two moons where service is identified then detailed. And get excited for the journey as it becomes clearer, nameable, a plan and a form for the rest of the unfolding year.

We're in the third week in the West of the Self-Existing Moon, and traveling into the Blue quadrant of the medicine wheel in Mayan spirituality is always the place of acceleration, emotion and transformation. What a perfect time for prophecy to give us an exact answer, a clear message.

We are spaced out and sleepless this wavespell. If our thoughts are dreamlike all day - expansive, exotic, imagination-driven - then why do we need time to dream at night? We might be less physically active in the daytime because we're not sleeping well, but somehow our psyche is still amassing its free-play, its ability to adventure, whether or not we log a lot of REM hours. Sleeplessness contributes to spacing out, dulling the edges of our intellect and blurring our visions as though we're inebriated. That's the Red Skywalker gestalt: a pseudo-psychedelic experience that allows us to act as prophets for a spell. Trust what's being dowloaded; it's from out there, a place that's immaterial and non-linear but as vital as this earth space. We need an infusion of beyondness, untethered intuition and wild tripping every so often. We need it now in anticipation of some very heavy wavespells ahead.
10.20.21 - Day 11/13 of the Yellow Sun Wavespell - Self-Existing Moon 3
The Yellow Sun wavespell peaked yesterday when the wave was at its highest ascent. Now it breaks, in a day, fast and full of disoriented free-fall. Spectral days always bring a state of undoing, control-cracking, breakdowns that help us ultimately relax and return home. They also redirect us to the opposite tribe - energy - of the last ten days, and sometimes we can palpably feel he relief and balance that opens up, as well, with this wave-collapse. To be seekers of enlightenment in the Yellow Sun way, to be ascetics and have spiritual focus and fever, sometimes mean placing emotional ties, sentient relationships, aside. Then comes the White Dog day, returning us to human-animal connection, dearness and closeness and a different kind of warmth than white-heat god-centeredness. We're at that day, that moment, and hopefully your rarified views of self, of life, are balanced and calmed by having mammalian love and attachment return.

Don't make special plans, don't invest in certain actions - just be awake to the day and where it leads your mind, your body, your trajectory, your desires.

The Blue Hand wavespell achieves its peak ascent, its maximal output, at the Yellow Warrior tribe. This indicates a characteristic of the Blue Hand tribe and people: your greatest strength and accomplishment, your ultimate pursuit and your everyday expression, is rooted in the good fight. Also just fighting: being positional, having a defense structure, constant re-con to assess others' vulnerabilities and lots of semi-obsessive mulling over strategies, game plans, intended results. This fits so aptly with Blue Hand people I know, and there's a parallel for all of us if we research the Planetary day of our tribe's wavespell. We can discover what we manifest best and most readily, how we are both gifted and limited in the planetary experience - our earthly incarnation.

Still focusing on the Electric tone's current predominance as the year and moon both amplify its energy. How can I best be of service? should be pulsing in your head and in your core. Seeing evidence of the answer around you, as well. As we enter the third Western week of the moon, the question and reverberating responses will only intensify. Take the opportunity to listen, to be happy for the perfect clarity that always comes in these windows where there is amplification: the year and moon pushing the same message, the same direction for our life's emerging passions.
9.30.21 - Day 4/13 of the Blue Hand Wavespell - Electric Moon 11
Mercury Retrograde is a surrounding affirmation that per Mayan time we are back in the seat of Donald Trump's personal astrology. He is a Blue Electric Hand, and we have entered an epicentric orientation to both his tone and tribe as we move through the Electric Moon and the Blue Hand wavespell concurrently. It's worthy of our awareness simply because he is a historic figure. We're living through the indecency of his influence, one that will be recorded in textbooks to catalogue the cultural shift he instigated and the fervent resistance he inspired. The Blue Hand wavespell is also described as a time of Healing, which is not obvious with Trump as exemplar. But we can get farther than his own limitations will ever lead him - past thinking we know everything, beyond the fixation on accomplishment and being rewarded, lauded for it. We can get to the end result past these more egoic practices and find resolutions in our relationships, meeting of individuated minds, connection that is shown in the gesture of using our hands to reach out, touch, hold onto one another.
9.26.21 - Day 13/13 of the White Wizard Wavespell - Electric Moon 7
The White Wizard wavespell gives way to Blue Hand. These tribes are occult partners, so watch a kind of mystical seamlessness as we flow between them. The shaman uses hands to heal, is inherently analytical in helping others through spells, tinctures, incantation. There is a lot of data processing in overseeing someone's return to wellness. We are switching from the timeless, formless reverie that makes a shaman unable to regulate everyday life, instead turns to vaster topics and truths, and lives apart from the tribe in service but also isolation. Now we will see the process, progress, as we handle the task at hand. It could be direct healing, ourselves or others, or it could be creative productivity, making things. White Wizard still hovers as a spiritual partner to this wavespell. The glyph of White Wizard depicts god's eye. The glyph of Blue Hand depicts our own. We take the host of spiritual insights from the last wavespell's arc into our own mind and vision. We know enchantment, and we act on it.
9.22.21 - Day 9/13 of the White Wizard Wavespell - Electric Moon 3
Today is a portal day. We won't have many for a while, or in frequency, as we are in the outer periphery of the Tzolkin, working out way slowly to the high frequency days that sit in its center columns. Today is a 'man's' day, celebrating the masculine archetype of White Wind, the breath that we take when we meet our father coming out of the womb. White Wind is a lyrical way to portray the absence of men - the physical absence to war or hunting/gathering in an earlier age - like the invisibility of the wind. You can't see it, but it's there. It is because the male principle is at the edge of the territory we occupy, safeguarding there, that we can spread out our feminine family-building and social center. Don't let these archetypal characterizations be gender identification. Men and women are not the same as the qualities of masculine/feminine. In an ancient Mayan gaze, women began creation and men greeted the child secondarily. Absent but resonantly present. We have these halves in our whole being: a physical, visceral gestation through intimacy and fluid exchange; a watchful spirit that is both detached and peripherally fixated on what will make birth safe, what will sustain those first transitory breaths. It's just one of the special, specific dichotomies the Tzolkin leads with. And we return to this union of parental forces each time we begin again.

This is a White Wizard wavespell within a White Wizard wavespell. We forget that the largest wavespell we track - over 13 years - is also White Wizard. It began July 26, 2019 and has certainly ushered in enchantment and timelessness - the dark spell of Coronavirus and the time warp of quarantine. We revisit this grand larger cycle with a much smaller, condensed version, but you can let it lead you back to bigger picture perspectives. What began for you in the White Magnetic Wizard year? What challenges are you facing as identified by the last Blue Lunar Storm year? Now we are in the third year of 13, Yellow Electric Seed, and on the verge of amplifying its tone by entering the Electric Moon. We are discovering how we can best be of service in this long 13-year wave. It's incredible and powerful to experience life through the lens of feminine creativity, of nurturing and motherhood, and it's exhausting to feel the cultural shadow of misogyny that accompanies any passage through goddess energy. Especially during the Lunar Moon. Challenge identified. Challenge accepted. White Wizard - the wavespell - is actually something we've been living the last two years on a larger scale. July 26, 2019 began a 13-year White Wizard wavespell, and immediately introduced us to the Coronavirus. We can enter this 13 day wavespell as an interesting reiteration of the larger themes of our recent years. We can look for connections in ourselves to bigger picture views for what our life holds in the 13 year arc we are passing through. Hint: timelessness and enchantment are what Jose Arguelles described as White Wizard's power points. You are in a timeless enchantment phase personally, we are in one collectively. And we will be for a long time forward.
9.9.21 - Day 9/13 of the Red Dragon Wavespell - Lunar Moon 17
We're coming up to the climax of the Red Dragon wavespell, its highest peak of accomplishment, its greatest reach toward the stars, its most stark demand on us that we are exposed to the powers of the divine feminine impulse that leads all creation. We can both feel the power of our feminine way - male or female in gender - and the forces that challenge or deny this entity of goddess in our culture, internalized in ourselves. Just notice, that's the gift of the wavespells we undulate through. Of course we are affected by the lessons - emotionally, psychologically and beyond - but its worth remembering that we're just riding waves, not the ones that caused them, not the ones that can flatten them for our own comfort or anyone else's. It's the time of exploring and accepting great feminine power, this moment so particularly as we reach the wave's crest, and then like a watery explosion the power surge breaks - disseminating the lesson and also dissolving it. And the next wavespell teaching, the next tribe, takes us to our next awakening.
9.6.21 - Day 5/13 of the Red Dragon Wavespell - Lunar Moon 15
The Lunar Moon moves into its third week, in the west, and accordingly the ways we are challenged - strung out by stress or conflict, internally upset and polarized - are coming to an emotional head. We can celebrate by the end of this week the plainspoken emergence of what our challenge is this new Mayan year, and what about it is connected to the year we just had which was rooted in the Lunar tone. It's kind of like seeing everything about challenge in our personal life and the cultural collective with underlines, exclamation points, so we don't miss the clear message: this is what is hard and what you'll integrate and overcome by the end of this year - and also by the end of our current 13 year cycle of such obvious, ominous upheaval.
8.31.21 - Day 13/13 of the Yellow Star Wavespell - Lunar Moon 9
It's the end of the Tzolkin, a portal day. Tomorrow the next Tzolkin begins, also a portal. There's a fluidity to this transit different than ending our solar year and celebrating the Day Out of Time. The Tzolkin is not demonstrating evolutionary change as much as marking our creative accomplishment. It is a calendar modeled after gestation in the womb, the most instinctual creation the human body produces. The Tzolkin cycle is a way to celebrate, honor, recreate our own original gestation, and to let the time flow inspire further processes that are life affirming, creative in the vein of Creator, and letting us release something deep within us into the outer world. In the Red Dragon wavespell to come, we see the birth of what was seeded 260 days ago, while simultaneously beginning a new creative endeavor - whatever karmically arises in the next few wavespells - that will come into being another Tzolkin cycle forward. 8.28.21 - Day 10/13 of the Yellow Star Wavespell - Lunar Moon 5
We are almost to the end of the Yellow Star wavespell, but that climax is overshadowed by the simultaneous ending of the Tzolkin. In a few days we will begin the Red Dragon wavespell and the next 260-day cycle. You are in a metaphysical completion of a gestational phase that began in the last days of the Gregorian year 2020. What started late fall, in mid-December, that is finishing now? How can you feel the sea change of something that has been propelling you, growing from your creativity, coming to an end or decisive shift? Look around at your life - 'good' and 'bad', it's the culmination of the last 260 days. While you were busy with your individual changes, a collective shift has also occurred. Late 2020 we were jovial and optimistic about a 'new year,' goodbye to layers of lockdown and one administration's Machiavellian gestalt. But 260 days later, we've only been pushed farther into spiral of dismay, of a kind of doomsday. And maybe - the silver lining - out of denial.
8.15.21 - Day 10/13 of the Blue Eagle Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 21
We're back to our first Yellow Seed day since the Yellow Electric Seed year began. It's been 20 days since July 26, and throughout this 13 Moon year, every 20 days we'll return to the Yellow Seed tribe, called our 'yearbearer.' Every Yellow Seed day also initiates a new 'vinal' - a 20-day cycle through the tribes that the Maya used to favor over month-like moons as a way to count through their earth year. Wow, what a lot of space age concepts to parse! Think of the Maya dividing the 365-day year into 20-day months, called vinals. Every time it's a Yellow Seed day, a new vinal begins. Every vinal has a poetic, mystical phrasing to describe it - and the one we enter today is 'listens in silence.' The vinal we just ended was the first of the year, 'the one who knows.' So we have the beginning of an odd, lyrical reflection in these two first vinals: the one who knows listens in silence. And that's each of us. 8.12.21 - Day 7/13 of the Blue Eagle Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 18
It's a portal day, the last one until our final day of the Tzolkin, Yellow Cosmic Sun. Feel the intensity, the opening that a portal moment offers, and then find yourself in a countdown of sorts as we pass through the 20 tribes one last time this Tzolkin. Finishing a Tzolkin cycle has the same kind of slowed-down enchantment, an exhalation and celebration of the journey that we've been through, as when we complete the 13 Moon year. Take the torpor that's offered, the lightness of spirit that comes from having shed layers in the churning demands of our own growth. The energy of resolution is usually one of slowness and peace, then in a new cycle there is acceleration and the discomfort of an undiscovered path laid before us. So enjoy the relative ease of this wind down, this last slide down the column of our 20 tribal stations.
8.10.21 - Day 5/13 of the Blue Eagle Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 16
Today is my Mayan birthday. Since I'm the voice of Natural Time, I think it's worth disclosing. My perspective, my perseverance for 22 years in the dedication to the Mayan cycles and teaching them publicly is anchored in the disposition of being Blue, and Overtone, and a Storm. It's probably irritating plenty of the time, even alienating, to have to deal with someone who is bossy, who is high energy and turbulent, full of outpouring and less able to receive, situated in the western sky of drawing in the night's darkness. Of course it is also my own form of magic, majesty and enticement that I live as the embodiment of the storm front and the dreamtime and that my energy is designed to empower myself and those I touch: Blue Overtone Storm. It's been 260 days since my ultimate rebirth at age 52, and I am also confident that to share my truth in this passage that describes Mayan transcendence from a life of survival to a life of service, is also important, instructive. We have an ego not to overindulge and turn to arrogance, but to on occasion recognize our own value, the specialized worth of our particular existence. So I celebrate having gifts - infused in me by my karmic astrology and some divinity that designed it - to share with you.
8.8.21 - Day 3/13 of the Blue Eagle Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 14
Blue Eagle is a solution-oriented experience, at best. Because we are so high in our minds, cut off from lower chakras and oriented to an overview perspective, we can see big picture ways through the hardships we encounter. Think of it literally: from above, high in the sky, we can see the way around obstruction that a small creature on the ground could not fathom. They see the mountain, the fallen tree, the waterway that blocks their path; the eagle sees the topography from such a larger perspective that they know the blockage is finite and how to avert it. This reflects how our mind has recognition of our personal history and having been in places of conflict or confinement in the past - that we have gotten around, outdistanced, resolved. And it shows us that now, in this wavespell, like a map: here is the way out or through.
8.5.21 - Day 13/13 of the White Wind Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 11
The White Wind time of abundant talking is finally over. Now we transit to Blue Eagle where if there's any extra sound, it's someone 'holding forth' from the top of their head, analytical and observant but hardly empathetic. Usually, though, Blue Eagle is a quieter contemplative turn, more remote, and the kind of cheerful oversharing with strangers that has been a pleasant part of the last 13 days is unlikely to continue. And also take the last notes on the spirit information White Wind has given you. Some truth came through. Maybe people or activities that are untrue have disappeared. Maybe what things remains, or are underscored, can be seen as 'your truth,' and you can proceed with full embrace of them.
8.1.21 - Day 9/13 of the White Wind Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 7
There are a couple of pressing questions orienting us to Mayan time right now. If you are having intense experiences, some that seem to surprise you with their arrival out of nowhere, or their undeniable boldness in your life, then you can apply the questions to see if this happenstance is in fact an answer to either of them. For the new Yellow Electric Seed year: How can I best be of service? We shifted a week ago from the constant Lunar drumbeat of What is my challenge? to this more expansive explorations of service, of getting from 'me' to 'we.' This is welcomed for the whole culture. The Magnetic Moon asks, What is my purpose? and its answer as we can see it indicated means for this whole year. A dense push gets us going, shakes us into awareness of new purpose, specific purpose to play out for the year's duration. So find the conjunction between these two questions. One might be, my purpose is to be of service. If that's true, you'll see clearly how that is being enacted in your life right now, and how it will only grow as the wavespell of the new year progresses.
7.28.21 - Day 5/13 of the White Wind Wavespell - Magnetic Moon 3
The White Wind wavespell has gotten a bit buried by the storyline of a new 13 Moon year, but we can revisit it now the hoopla of the transit between years has abated. And notice that this whole Yellow Electric Seed year is held within the White Wind wavespell. When we consider Yellow Electric Seed, when we live from within its purview, we are seated in the White Wind tribe and its impulses. Truth is one factor of White Wind, and archetypal fatherhood and male aspects of being in the world. The words of the spirit world, or Great Spirit, travel on White Wind's currents and communication, spoken aloud, is one of its manifestations. See what you're saying right now, and hearing. Your words and those around you are iterations of otherworldly influence and direction. And allow the days to be full of chatter, ramblings, connection through conversation. It's how we fill the absence the male archetype brings, ever so busy in an ancient world away from us.
7.25.21 - Day 2/13 of the White Wind Wavespell * Day Out of Time
Today is called the 'Day Out of Time' as a poetic description of being unconnected to any of the 13 Moons. It's neither the furtherance of our recent, final Cosmic Moon or an antecedent of the Magnetic Moon that launches our new year on July 26. It's a day's breath away from the 13 Moon wavespell that is demanding work for all of us who follow its fluid changes. In that way, time stops - no consideration for the purposefulness that tomorrow's Magnetic tone drives, no last grip on the year that was completed in a form of transcendence in the Cosmic time. Like the late night of New Year's Eve in the Gregorian tradition, we're awash in enchantment, finalizing and releasing the past while turning wakefully toward the future. It's a special way to be in connection to the ancient cultures that saw July 26 as the new year - the Maya and Egyptians both - and to feel caught again in the power of any devotion you feel to this modern Mayan movement.
7.21.21 - Day 11/13 of the Red Moon Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 25
Today is the first day of the 'vayeb,' the 5-day period that ushers in the new Mayan year. You can imagine in an earlier time that all went inward and in particular found ways to shepherd out the old year's events and energy. Blue Lunar Storm has been trial by fire, a deluge of grief, an immense shadow-light polarization structure. The darkness was undeniable except for constant flares of conflict. It's ending now. In the Electric year we'll feel the influence and confluence of a higher power than human emotional combat filling in the vast chasms of dissonance we've created. Take time to let go of this intense, historic passage we've endured. The next one won't have fast, easy harmony, but it's building toward acts of service, instead of self-preservation, which will help break this hard cycle.
7.18.21 - Day 8/13 of the Red Moon Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 22
Don't miss the transit this week to the new Mayan year. It's a way of connecting to thousands of ancient souls that had no doubt that this is the time of epic renewal. You can open your day to the energy field, open your mind to something beyond the daily tasks at hand and find the thread to original Mayan belief and celebration. The most obvious action is to reflect upon and release this year that was. When we hit the new year, the new Magnetic Moon, we'll be consumed by the karma we attract, the wind up for a new 13 Moon adventure. But now as the dusk descends on Blue Lunar Moon, we are loose and spacious at the end of this road and can really pay attention to the finishing touch of these next days.
7.14.21 - Day4/13 of the Red Moon Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 18
The Cosmic Moon is pushing us to be one with the cosmos, a natural conclusion to any year's journey of hard work - like an endorphin high from exercise. We are also in relative stillness compared to the action-packed drama of the Blue Lunar Storm siege we've been through, and every wavespell has a variation on this storyline of fast-paced growth that concludes in the Cosmic tone's break from so much active evolution. Enjoy the spaciousness and slowness - just days left before we wind up again and encounter the forceful, fateful blast of the new year's Magnetic tone. The Cosmic Moon holds the typical pace of an open-ended summer season; the Magnetic Moon has the urgency of too much heat, when unscheduled freedom turns to the fretful impulse to get ready for a long, dark winter season. It's harvest time after the final stages of agricultural bloom. So enjoy the bounty of everything you tended to all year, and know that another round of demanding - and illuminating - growth is set to arrive in days.
7.11.21 - Day 1/13 of the Red Moon Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 15
New wavespell in the watery realm of Red Moon - the moon cycles are celebrated along with their influence on the tides and our own liquid bodies. It's also the opposite of Blue Storm, our current year, which means we close out the whole experience of cataclysmic, explosive, tension-releasing anger and sky-crying with water that only wants to seek balance. Nothing explosive about Red Moon, except maybe the vulnerable exhaustion that comes from at times having to reflect so much direct sunlight. So we get to flow into the last phases of the Cosmic Moon and our 13 Moon year's end.
7.7.21 - Day 10/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 11
We're winding down the Mayan year - only 19 days to go until we begin again. In this last tour through the tribes until we arrive at Yellow Electric Seed on July 26, we can really feel the way the year dissipates, turns to an ether memory, even as we relive its echoes. It's as if our experiences with Blue Lunar Storm - continued conflict, polarization and explosive outbursts - need to be reemphasized right now as we finally turn to the Yellow Seed's ascent. 7.3.21 - Day 6/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 7
The Yellow Warrior wavespell turns out to be full of war. That sucks. It's not like we haven't been steeped in polarizing face offs and open enraged conflict this entire Blue Lunar Storm year. So as we enter the Cosmic Moon it's a perfect summation of the year - the final thoughts, the post script - that we would watch ourselves and others be quick to ire, offensive/defensive and inclined toward protecting our hearts with a shield instead of leading with them openly. Endure and Transcend, says the Cosmic tone, in order to experience Presence. Endure the infighting, the backbiting, the survivalist flares of temper as people try to save themselves from increased pressure, encroaching threat. Transcend by seeing the bigger picture surrounding us - climate catastrophes and the usual angles of greed and self-preservation coming from people in power. Where is your place in this human trauma? There is grace to be found. Maybe you have it easily, or you have to forge it daily, reinforce it against the enemy infiltrator, the energy field of destruction. Then you have a space that's calm, inward, safe, so that your present moment is not only fraught, challenged, but also peaceful. Cosmic.
6.28.21 - Day 1/13 of the Yellow Warrior Wavespell * Cosmic Moon 2
Bonus episode: the war is waged, watch your decibels of defense and reactivity. I had to throw another podcast up to reposition myself as this time of war begins. I am naturally inclined toward conflict and excessively defensive posturing, but to be in the homeland of the original archetypal warrior makes me want to be careful, clinical in battle - not flailing, not in full-scale artillery fire. I had someone start a fight with me on this first day and was reminded that people will be inclined that way for now. But there's an opportunity if you follow the Tzolkin calendar to clarify your own draw toward conflict to be the 'right fight' for the cause you care most about. Don't get confused and join every battlefront. Find the actual hill you would die on and see what service you can provide there. The honed in focus on what you care about - to protect, serve and defend - will make you stronger and survive the danger of the war-zone. Plus it's the Cosmic Moon and I can feel it. Sink into the oneness with the cosmos we have earned after a year of growth in our sentient bodies, our life on earth.

First day of the Cosmic Moon is also a Cosmic day completing the Blue Night wavespell. There will be three Cosmic days in this Cosmic Moon so we have all this amplified opportunity to discover what the Cosmic tone means through direct, doubled experience of it. Let the first day set your course for discovery of enduring and transcending presence, the indicators that Jose Arguelles chose for the 13th and final stage of our wavespell journey. There is book knowledge, there is listening to your Natural Time teachers, and then there is your own openness to the unfolding lessons that happen in your body, being, environment as they happen. This moon is special, rarified, taking us into the vastness of the cosmos. Feel the shift as the moon changes, greet the new energy with interest and observation.

It's nearly the end of the Crystal Moon. The moon that's almost full will probably swamp us with an intensity that upends the true resolution we've encountered the last weeks as we work through this tone of cooperation and dedication to the collective. So try to grab your story arc one more time to see how it's come to completion. The themes of a Blue Lunar Storm year are identifying how we are different than others, while also have psycho-emotional breakthroughs that force us to not feel better than those we are clearly separate from in belief and practice. The ways we are different will be resolved, reconnected in ten years when we get to the Crystal year of this 13-year wavespell. For now we just own and identify where we are in the shadow realm and the light that our earth moon demonstrates in its phases. And we see where others live, occupy the opposite space. Use this full moon glare to look closely at your year's discoveries. Then the Cosmic Moon will come and take any logic or oversight away and set as adrift in transcendence, in being present, and enduring the tension of the next wave stirring deep below us.
