When Jesus says to love others as in the same way we have been loved by Him, He's not talking about the way our culture defines love. He's talking about a Biblical love based on sacrifice, dying to ourselves and laying ourselves down for our friends.
Abiding and remaining in Christ means doing what He says. This means not just saying that you're a Christian, or that you love God. But out of joy in the Lord, knowing that He has saved you from your sin, faithfully serving Him.
As Christians, we must love everyone around us just as Jesus has shown His unique unconditional and supernatural love to us. By loving our families with the love of Jesus, we put Him on display for all to see.
As Christians, we must remember that faith without good works is dead. Out of our love and devotion for Jesus, we are to be known and marked by our love for others.
Far too often we hold onto anger, resentment, or bitterness. We must remember that just as God as forgiven us, we must forgive others.
As we see harm done to others, may we see those who are suffering as Jesus looked at them; with deep compassion that led to action.
We are often scared or nervous about our current or future circumstances. But should we be? NO. If you have God, you don't need to be afraid.
Main Idea: I Can Like Me Because God Loves Me. Because Jesus seeks us out, much like He did with the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, he also pulls us out of darkness and habits of sin, and pull us into the light. Because of this we can live a life free from shame.
How do you respond when you see others succeed? Tonight's Main Idea: The more I celebrate others, the more I like me.
Don't Let the Opinions of Others Determine Your Value.
What do you find identity in? Do you find it in what other people say about you? Why do we always feel the urge to reinvent ourselves so other people will like us more? Find your identity in what God has already said about you rather than trying to compare your worth to others.

Based on these verses, is it possible for something to come in between us and God's love?
What does it mean to be justified? And how does this change me?
Read v. 37. What does it mean when Paul says "we are more than conquerors"? Conquerors of what?
What is the difference between shame and conviction?
Reflect on this: What is a sin that you have allowed shame to rule over you? Give that to God, and be forgiven to walk free of it, and pursuit Jesus in freedom!

What does it mean to be content with your situation?
Does being content mean being lazy, and letting life pass you by? What's the difference?
What do you put your confidence in? Comfort? Control? Accomplishments?
How can you seek God's Kingdom first in your relationships with others today?

If closeness to God is the goal- what does closeness look like?
Taking a look at Paul's life- how can you relate to him, and what can you learn from his life?
Closeness takes both work on our part, but also the work of the Holy Spirit. What kind of work do you need to put into your walk with the Lord today? And also- what do you need to surrender to allow the Holy Spirit to work inside of you?
