As a self-taught musician, I understand how important it is to figure out music theory. While having the internet around was a huge help, things did get confusing from time to time - What's the right way to start? What should I learn first - Chords or Melodies? What's the right instrument? 

Due to Covid, many music learning organisations were forced to shift online and had to compete with the free resources we have for learning online as well. While the answer from a consumer standpoint seems fairly obvious (let's get it for free!), it's not as simple as that.
