I am getting rolling with my private practice and finally got credentialed with two insurance companies in Oregon! It's a steep learning curve to actually bill insurance, however, I'm committed.

If you are interested in the Nutrition Insight Project, reach out to Hannah here. I am still looking for a brave student who would be willing to participate in the Nutrition Insight Project and record a few podcast episodes anonymously in exchange for a DEEP discount. Is this you??

If yes, email me at nutritioninsightproject@gmail.com.

In today's conversation with Anny Ha, my dietitian colleague and friend, we go pretty deep. She discussed how personal experiences led her to the field of nutrition. We discuss working together at an eating disorder treatment center and how fundamental it was for us to eat with our clients. Eating with clients brings nutrition from abstract ideologies to the table! Eating with clients is an intimate and often intense experience that can really deepen the therapeutic relationship. It has strengthened and informed the nutrition work we do with clients to this day. As Anny had to relocate and find new positions, her circumstances pushed to into taking jobs that seemed totally different from the eating disorder work she had been used to. We talk about how Anny was able to integrate eating disorder work into her work with people who have diabetes. Ellyn Satter has deeply influenced Anny and she discusses how she incorporates Ellyn Satter's eating competence model and hierarchy of feeding into the work she does with her clients.

Anny is a creative, change-maker in the field of dietetics! Here is a link to the article she published with her colleagues on her innovative Eating and Thriving with Diabetes Program (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/2633559X20925455?journalCode=aipb)

We talk about her experience working side-by-side with weight-centric providers in a prestigious weight loss clinic. She was able to build connections rather than division by sharing her perspective, expertise, and insight with the providers who thought differently from her. Her influence through real human connection has sent of ripple of change through that clinic. Lastly, Anny shares how her personal nutrition insight work continues to deepen and grow even more now that she is a parent.

If you would like to connect with Anny about any of the projects or ideas discussed on today's podcast, feel free to email her: Annyhaha@gmail.com
