In Job 35-37, Elihu, a friend of Job, speaks to him and argues that God is just and righteous, and that Job's suffering is a result of his own sins. He also states that God does not always immediately punish the wicked, but that they will ultimately receive justice. Elihu encourages Job to repent and seek forgiveness from God in order to receive relief from his suffering. Additionally, Elihu asserts that it is not for mortals like Job to question God's ways or to fully understand the reasons for their suffering.
