There is a dizzying display of violent crime all across America. During my endeavors as a reality TV crime reporter, police officer, and security consultant, I’ve noted that victims share an almost universal trait. They know nearly nothing about crime prevention. No surprise really, as that huge body of knowledge is only shared with a small group of highly trained specialists. Why is that? Beats me. Seems like avoiding violent crimes, property crimes, and scams are things that everyone would benefit from learning. Yet it’s an unknown unknown. And what you don’t know can kill you.
