Do you have a financial planner, my friend?  With my new position in the company, I received a handsome raise.  Perhaps it’s my age, but rather than going out and buying a new car and an entirely different wardrobe, I decided to invest in my retirement.   I know it sounds like a decision a middle-aged person would make, but I guess that is where I am in life.  I showed my financial planner what I had set aside in savings and in retirement.  The planner put my numbers into his computer and showed me what I would have if I continued to invest at that rate.   It looks like I may be a little short on finances when I retire.
