Inspired by Tim Stephens, pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta, who was arrested in 2021 for holding church, who delivered a sermon entitled "Woe Canada!" in November 2022 based on Luke 10:13-16.

The approach here takes a much wider view of condemnation taken from multiple passages throughout the Scriptures which I have included below.

However judgment must start with the family of God (1 Peter 4:17): Rev 3:14-22.

Woe to America

• Woe to America who honors me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. (Matthew 15:8)

• Woe to America who slaughters millions of children in the womb. (Lev 20:1-5)

• Woe to America who leads my little ones to sin. (Matt 18:6)

• Woe to America who calls evil good and good evil, who puts darkness for light and light for darkness, who puts bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. (Isa 5:20)

• Woe to America for being wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight. (Isa 5:21)

• Woe to America for being heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink. (Isa 5:22)

• Woe to America who acquits the guilty for a bribe, and deprives the innocent of his right. (Isa 5:243)

• Woe to America who takes counsel neither of the Lord nor of His Spirit so that it may add sin to sin. (Isa 30:1)

• Woe to America who trusts in its chariots because they are many and its horsemen because they are strong but look not unto the Holy One of Israel nor seek the Lord. (Isa 31:1)

• Woe to America who plows iniquity, reaps injustice, and eats the fruit of lies. (Hosea 10:13)

• Woe to America who deals treacherously with other nations and plunders its enemies without cause. (Isa 33:1, Psa 7:4)

• Woe to America whose leaders devise injustice and mete out violence on the earth. (Psa 58:2)

• Woe to America whose pastors destroy and scatter the sheep of the Lord's pasture. (Jer 23:1)

• Woe to America for hotly pursuing and exploiting the poor and crushing them in the court, for sitting in ambush in the villages and in hiding places murdering the innocent, for steadily watching for the helpless, lurking to seize the poor, and upon seizing them drawing them into its net. (Psalm 10, Prov 22:22, Isa 10:1-3)

• Woe to America for exploiting the fatherless. (Isa 1:17, Isa 10:1-3)

• Woe to America for putting out money at interest and taking bribes against the innocent. (Psalm 15:5)

• Woe to America who has received the Word of the Lord, seen many wondrous things, and yet rejects Him. (Luke 10)

• Woe to America for honoring not the Creator God nor giving Him thanks. (Rom 1:21)

• Woe to America for exchanging the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things, for exchanging the truth about God for a lie, worshipping and serving the creature rather than the Creator. (Rom 1:23, 25)

• Woe to America's leaders for not serving the Lord with fear, for not rejoicing with trembling, and for not taking refuge in Him. (Psalm 2:11, 12)

• Woe to America for its love of money which has produced a myriad of evil. (1 Tim 6:10)

• Woe to America for its love of vain words and seeking after lies. (Psalm 4:2)

• Woe to America for not keeping the commandments of the Lord, for its heart is lifted up because it has eaten and is full, has built good houses and lived in them, and its flocks and herds have multiplied and its silver and gold has multiplied, and all its possessions have multiplied and yet it has forgotten the Lord God. (Deu 8:11-14)

• Woe to America for the wicked shall return to Sheol--all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17)

• Woe to America who plans iniquity, who plots evil on their beds! At morning’s light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it. They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud people of their homes, they rob them of their inheritance. (Micah 2:1-2)

• Woe to America for the Lord shall not acquit someone with dishonest scales or with a bag of false weights. Your rich people are violent; your inhabitants are liars and their tongues speak deceitfully. (Micah 6:11-12)

• Therefore because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each one according to his deeds.” (Romans 2:5-6)

• And the Lord will take vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that have not obeyed Him. (Micah 5:15)

• For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head. (Obadiah 15)
